Coke is now it...

When I was a procurement process consultant at IBM I ran a project at Coca Cola World Headquarters in Atlanta. The competition between Coke and Pepsi was blood sport and exclusive pouring rights a life and death struggle. I can share some incredible stories about the competition between the two!
Man between my summer job at Pepsi in the early aughts and your time as a Coke consultant, we did not help Americas chronic obesity problem.

I think the worst was around the late 80’s, 90’s when the public school systems sold their souls and kid’s heath to the soda companies in their schools to fund athletic complexes and turf fields etc.

Hey guys, thanks for the info.

Maybe the hopers will finally get their wish. The only bad thing in a switch to Coke IMO would be no Coke Zero, only Diet Coke. Yuck!
Why won't there be Coke Zero?

Liverpool High School was one of these. Even as a high schooler I remember thinking it was gross.

I would think it would depend on whether thy use a fountain or bottles. It wouldn't be a problem to ship in a consignment of Coke Zero in bottles, but some fast food places don't offer Coke Zero from their fountains. The places with the "choose your flavor" machines have Coke Zero.

I’m shocked someone hasn’t complained the University should have let season ticket holders know the deal before they renewed their season tickets. Personally, I prefer Pepsi over Coke. I’m pleased that my local Subway just switched from Coke to Pepsi. I’m not sure if it’s a national change or just locally.

Since this is a university-wide switch that includes all vending machines and dining halls, I wonder if someone should have let students and incoming freshmen know.

I'd hit the portal before I'll drink Coke.

no more fountain sodas in the dome - would imagine it will remain all bottled/canned

The dome got rid of ALL fountain sodas......

SU should bring back self serve freestyle fountain machines. They could sell cups with RFID chips in them, sell a collectible cup that's good for the season.

If Disney can handle it, I think SU could figure out a way.

I get the grab and go soda issue. But isnt the profit hugely better from non bottled soda? The big issue is that they cant keep the soda cold at least with fountain ones you have a slight chance of some ice helping,

Anecdotal support: Texas A&M, a.k.a. Aggieland, has soda fountains everywhere. The real problem is keeping ice in the machines. Inevitably, by halftime, there is no ice. They buy ice by the truckloads and still run out of ice every week, unless it's cold in November. Plus, the popular flavors run low and often so does the carbonation. You are left with warm, flat, and less than desirable flavors.
