I give the coaches credit for giving Cole the 49-yard look and Norton the hook soon thereafter.

Because the coaching staff has trouble identifying who should be starting. Drew Allen over Hunt. Norton over Murphy. This coaching staff isn't great at figuring out who should be playing. Usually takes them till mid-September to figure this stuff out. You get what ya pay for when it comes to coaches

Well we can agree to disagree. Point is even after Hunt went down he went straight to Wilson. When its clear Long is a superior player and talent. When it comes to Murphy its not even debatable who is a better kicker. But to compare Shafer with Dabo and Saban is laughable. They might make that mistake once. Shafer is showing a trend of doing it multiple times in consecutive years. There is a difference.

When it comes to Murphy its not even debatable who is a better kicker. But to compare Shafer with Dabo and Saban is laughable. They might make that mistake once. Shafer is showing a trend of doing it multiple times in consecutive years. There is a difference.

Coaches said preseason that the #2 QB job was dependent upon how long QB1 was out. They weren't going to burn AJ's redshirt for a half vs Villanova. Wilson was the short term plug in. As soon as significant snaps were available, they got AJ ready.
