Cole Swider: Pistons

Interesting article which includes one familiar player's Summer League success leading to just about nothing.https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2022/7/12/23206492/warriors-summer-league-mac-mcclung-contract?_gl=1*o61aok*

Interesting. To be fair the road to a roster gets quite a bit more challenging when you are a guy with the ball in his hands. You see so many guys pressing and trying to show out in SL at the guard position. So I do think that position and skill set matters when you look at McClung vs Cole.

Seeing Cole in the SL makes me think how much different last season could have went if Jesse didn't get injured. Almost exactly at the time that Jesse was injured, Cole had really started getting hot which would have taken pressure defense off Buddy and would have made the team hard to defend, James also improved considerably as the team came together. Good luck to Cole to keep his hot hand rolling right into the League.
If only we had some perimeter players that could dribble by people and defend a little.

We had a few pieces, no question. Just wasn’t a well rounded team at all.

No. They also don’t count toward roster totals or salary cap.

You can carry 15 on the roster and (2) 2-way players for a total of 17.

For details on the Lakers current roster, from r/Lakers:

Melo earned around $2.5m. He was their 5th highest scorer.

Davis only played in 40 of their 82 games - almost $1m a game.
Lebron played in just 56 games.

And 1. But missed the FT.
