Dropped some weight. Still gets his shot blocked way to much and drops his shoulder seemingly every time down low and gets called for fouls. He's not over powering anyone at this level like he did in HS. It looks like his offensive will consist of putbacks and dunks. No improvements on his offensive moves imo.

And his D? (a liability which keep him on the floor minimally last year)

Spot on.

Its tough to watch. He's trying and looks to be more agressive but he's making the same exact mistakes. I did feel he was much improved on Defense but there are still two centers on the team that are better than him at that.

Its clear he is a 4 yr player.. hopefully it clicks at some point in his career. Going to be baby steps. Good to hear his d is improving.. that is a step towards earning more pt and getting a chance to get into games slowly

He looked more mobile on D, hard to tell just how much he improved on D due to the competition. His effort on the boards and getting after loose balls was tremendous.

Agreed and improved from where he was last year doesn't necessarily mean good. He needs to earn his minutes scoring because IMO he will never be a better defender than Baye or Rak.

He looked to bump alittle to much before shooting tonight. hes got to learn to shoot quickly over his man with footwork sometimes without the contact. Then whoever he is up against won't always be leaning back in position to flop.

I still expect rak to start suprising people at some point this year,.Giving 100% will be huge for him, overall a slower lackluster practice tonight and less of a game.

Who taught him the move where he power dribbles to his left and puts up a weak shot with his right hand (the hand closer to the defender)? I have yet to see that not get blocked and he does it at least 3 times per game.

I agree about Rak but I thought that all last season as well.

He'll get blocked a lot, get used to it.

For the 10th time-- he's undersized. I didn't watch the game but I was hoping he would display some better offensive footwork.

So was Otis Hill. He didn't get blocked like this.

It has more to do with his bad habits combined with his lack of height/elevation, rather than solely his height.

Hill really came on his Junior year, I hold out hope for Coleman.

Completely agree. Really wish he made the move to Oak Hill for his Senior yr of HS. He could get away with his low post moves against locals, but not in D1 basketball. Heck, I wish he'd be able to dominate these d2 teams.

His effort is great, but his offensive skills and instincts are just poor.

It's surprising that anyone watched Coleman play in high school and thought he would be anything but a four-year player. Seems that some people read about the #1 high school freshman in the country and made some assumptions.

His D wasnt bad for this type of game but his O just isnt there.

Agreed. You can't get stripped of the ball by Holy Family. He blew a wide open put back because he brought the ball down. The opponent stripped it and it went out of bounds off DC2's leg. He needs to master the baby hook.

He's the best rebounder on the team. He needs to use that to his advantage when on offense. Go straight up with the ball, don't bring it down.

Dajuan is such a passionate team oriented kid it does pain us to see him struggle. It is really promising to see him having had lost all the weight meaning he really is heeding coaches advice and putting the work in. He clearly struggles more from a bball iq perspective than anything. I don't think it is necessarily a coaching problem. Dajuan needs minutes to help him get to a point where what becomes successful in his game comes instinctive vs being something technical. I hope he gets his chances this year. His ferocity rebounding may come in handy this year even if it comes between stints with few minutes.

It'd be nice if one of our two mcdonalds all american big men could learn one post move between the two of them.

Amazing that the best of the three is the relative nobody.
