I decided to add up the numbers from the hard-to-read box scores that appeared on Syracuse.com. I had to get Italians translations for some of the categories: PP is turnovers, PR is steals, SF is blocks and FF is fouls committed. The box score for the last one lacked minutes, blocks and fouls so those stats are four three games, not four. Here is what I came up with. The stats are minutes/seconds played, two point shots made and attempted, three point shots made and attempted, free throws made and attempted, points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers and personal fouls CENTERS Bourama Sidibe 67:15 13/23 0/1 8/19 34p 48r 1a 4s 10b 5to 8pf Jesse Edwards 52:45 7/14 0/1 5/8 19p 18r 1a 1s 5b 4to 12pf FORWARDS Quincy Guerrier 78:31 16/19 3/10 6/13 47p 38r 7a 3s 2 b 4to 3pf Elijah Hughes 70:48 10/18 11/32 5/6 58p 16r 10a 11s 1b 5to 4pf Robert Braswell 60:52 7/12 3/8 3/3 26p 19r 2a 4s 1b 5to 3pf GUARDS Buddy Boeheim 57:24 1/5 10/32 7/8 39p 11r 2a 4s 0b 4to 5pf Brycen Goodine 56:09 5/9 7/24 3/4 34p 12r 11a 6s 1b 5to 4pf Joe Girard 52:08 1/5 11/25 5/7 40p 4r 5a 5s 0b 5to 6pf Jalen Carey 49:43 15/23 1/5 4/5 37p 15r 15a 6s 1b 5to 1pf Howard Washington 34:35 1/4 4/11 0/2 14p 6r 8a 4s 0b 4to 2pf Comments: Sidibie’s impressive performance is the #1 story. We don’t know who our point guard is but we have plenty of talented candidates. I want to know what we’ve got at center. Sidibe looks good except at the line. Edwards has a way to go but 19p 18r and 5b in 52 minutes is pretty good. Guerrier isn’t tall but seems like the definition of a power forward. Hughes is a scorer but showed a productive all-around game. Braswell’s minutes were interesting and the quality of his play was strong. I don’t think he’ll be glued to the bench, as some thought. We’ll see how many minutes he gets when Dolezaj can play. I think the minute distribution of the guards will hold up. Each is different and each can play. I suspect Washington is a break glass in emergency guy but we’ll see plenty of the other guys.
