Comedy-Ok I admit I checked the game thread right around halftime just for poops and giggles and that's exactly what I got ! it was exactly as I expected and just like probably any other teams board when they are at home laying and egg. I bet the same thing is going on right now on the Clemson board they lose their mind for the coach not using the portal enough.

Comeback-Nice comeback from that bad first half to not let it spiral into another Pitt type beat down(speaking of Pitt Yikes they are getting a 55 gallon drum of whoop ass laid on them right now). They kept there composure and steadied the ship and won a touch fought game instead of the past few Novembers.

Cadets- I am Cuse fan first and foremost but hey how bout them Cadets from the Hudson !! Look they have a game against Notre Dame in a couple of weeks and of course close against Navy. What a story that would be they are ranked 21st and beat Air Force without there QB , Not far fetched that if they beat Notre Dame and Navy and handle there other business they could give the playoff people something to think about !!
I'm an EX Army Field Artillery 13B and they certainly could fire a HE Round right dead smack into the 1st year of the expanded Playoffs

Go Army

A cool, sunny fall Saturday at Michie Stadium watching a football game is a good day. Glad to see Army doing so well.

Nothing to think about if they go undefeated with a win against Notre Dame,Unthinkable that they would leave them out

Grew up in Hudson Valley and my uncle had Army season tickets in the 70s and I got to go to a lot of games. So beautiful, great memories and who knew I'd have six degrees of separation with Homer Smith (Army's coach then) when his pupil Dino Babers was my alma master's coach!

they still need to finish ahead of boise which will be hard if they dont lose.

They can take more than one group of 5 school
sure but they need to be ahead of a bunch of schools. Army would have the ND win but not much else and beating ND probably knocks them out.

the SEC 2-3 loss teams will still be highly thought of.

how far down do you go to find a team that Army would be fav over in a game in the top 20-30?

I think Army would be put a beat down on Miami for one.

Miami D is not very good and they would be 14-20 pt fav probably.
Miami would also score 50
All I’m saying is if Army were to beat a top 10 Notre Dame and go undefeated they would most likely end up top 10 in the country. What a farce if they don’t let one of our service academies in the playoff.

There is a huge, huge problem for Army as far as getting into the playoff. The 12 teams are selected on December 8th. The Army-Navy game is on 12/14 - the result is the committee cannot know if Army will remain undefeated, and likely cannot pick an Army team that wouldn’t make it in even with a loss to Navy. With the schedule Army has, a one loss team -even with a win over Notre Dame - would almost certainly NOT be in. I think the odds of Army making it this year are very low as a result.

This was a known issue by the academies when they opted to push that game out another week after conference championship game weekend. It’s hard to complain it’s unfair when the academies knew how that decision could impact their playoff chances - they just have to live with the consequences of that decision.

If they beat Notre Dame my money is they get in. There just isn’t that many really good teams that could cry about being left out.Maybe I’m wrong but unless they beat Notre Dame we will never know.

They won't be...

the Committee already said they will decide no matter what happens in the Army/Navy game

Army could get in and lose and that wont matter.

the good news now is that they wont probably play in the champ. game the week before

ND is going to do the same thing to Army as they did to Navy.

Army's D is much better than Navy's. I believe they've only allowed 5-6 passing TDs this season. And for a team that holds the ball and runs the clock, you would expect most teams to throw to keep up.

I’ll come back to this if they beat Notre Dame to see if you’d like to put some actual money on that prediction…

Yeah…the committee saying that means less than nothing. They broadly have two options for statements:

1) “Of course Army has a chance to get in!”
2). “With the Army-Navy game the week after we pick - Army and Navy are out no matter what. Sorry”.

That they would go with option 1 shouldn’t surprise anyone. But we’re talking about folks who found a plausible reason to keep an undefeated FSU out last year - I have complete and total confidence in their ability to find a reason to keep Army out as well. And I’m very certain there would be lots of desire on their part to do so as well.

I can put all I want on FanDuel, they offer odds on teams making playoffs
