Compare beating Clemson Saturday to a basketball win

If we were to knock off Clemson Saturday, what level of SU basketball win would that equate to in terms of excitement?

At minimum, I think it would compare to an Elite 8 victory. But I think you could make a very reasonable argument that it would turn Syracuse upside down in excitement behind only the 2003 national title win.

Dude if we beat Clemson for a 2nd year in a row we are officially a Football school again. That's like a trip to the final 4! Clemson two years in a row! That's epic! Add in Florida State! Good money!

I think we can FINALLY say the corner has been turned. 5-0, wins back to back years over a top 5 opponent, first national ranking since my undergrad days (such a shame). Would be quite a party on the Hill Saturday afternoon/evening.

I'd say it'd be up there with punching a final 4 ticket.

It’s the equivalent of the 2006 BET run where GMac got to go off.
It was a magical 4 game run that won’t be forgotten and got us into the NCAAT.
It won a conference title but didn’t impact the NC.
If we beat Clemson on Saturday it would be the biggest win in program history. We would become a top 15 team and legit playoff contender.
With a 2 game lead basically to get to Charlotte and the ACC title game.

Beating Clemson in Death Valley, after what our football program has been through the last decade and a half, would be second in line behind our national championship in 2003. EVERY SINGLE YEAR I've waited for our program to come back... this would show me... in a huge way... that it is FULL ON BACK. And only the Melo year in basketball is more exciting than that.

Fine i’ll say it. Near equivalent of the national championship. Its 5-0 and a likely top 20 berth, heisman convo for Dungey and the potential to return to the dome 6-0 to a crowd of well over 45,000.

It’s great to dream, but I think this game could get ugly especially if we don’t jump out on top. They did struggle on defense against Texas AM’s spread offense. They have played three option teams and did well.
