I have been trying to find examples of ACC player sanctions and the only one I was able to find was this.
"North Carolina linebacker Shakeel Rashad has been suspended for this weekend’s game against North Carolina State for a hit on Duke’s Conner Vernon"

If this player was suspended for an illegal hit on the field I don't see how they will ignore Hunt's left hook.

The suspension came the Monday after Saturday game.

If this happens, how does the staff handle practice? Wilson needs all the first team reps he can get before CMU but Hunt needs reps as well to get ready for MD (assuming he is allowed to practice).

This could get real ugly.

that was a blind sided hit so not really the same

I just hope the ACC acts quicker than the NCAA and makes a decision by tomorrow, not next Monday since this is a bye week.

Here is the video.

He blindsided the kid in the back during a substitution when the kid was getting set. Not remotely close. It is impossible to compare almost any situation to what happened to hunt. I don't think Hunt gets any more punishment.

Why is that a lesser offense?
it was a lesser offense because it wasn't done against a fellow ACC player. I'm only half kidding. I wonder if the ACC will hurt a member school when they will not be playing a ACC school. At the end of the day it really isn''t about sportsmanship. It's about money.

I also thought that NCAA rules were an automatic one game suspension for being ejected for fighting.

Rule 9 Section 5 governs the penalty for fighting [fighting is a term of art and does not necessarily match the common notion of what fighting is, but it is strictly defined. Fights before the end of thefirst half results in Disqualification for the remainder of the game. Fights in the second half result in Disqualification for the
remainder of the game and the first half of the next game. For fights that occur in the last game of a season, squad members in uniform, coaches and players with eligibility remaining will serve fight-related suspensions during the first game of the next season for which they are eligible. If the squad member, coach or player is disqualified for fighting a second time during that season, he shall be disqualified for that game and suspended for the remainder of the season. If a second fighting suspension occurs in the final game of a season, he shall be suspended for the first game of the next season for which he is eligible. This suspension is considered to be his first fight of that season.
Rule 9 Section 6 Article 1 governs Player Ejections from flagrant fouls: When a player is disqualified from the game due to a flagrant
personal foul, that team’s conference shall automatically initiate a video review for possible additional sanctions prior to the next scheduled game.

I don't know. Seeing as it was Duke, I'd call them for flopping.;)

OK thanks, now we only have to worry about the ACC - it is the conference sportsmanship rule that concerns me.

OK thanks, now we only have to worry about the ACC - it is the conference sportsmanship rule that concerns me.

Here is the actual rule that applies below.

Here are the Articles:
Flagrant Fouls
ARTICLE 1.
Before the game, during the game and between periods, all
flagrant fouls (Rule 2-10-1) require disqualification. Team B disqualification
personal fouls require first downs if not in conflict with other rules.
Striking Fouls and Tripping
ARTICLE 2. a. No person subject to the rules shall strike an opponent with the
knee; strike an opponent’s helmet (including the face mask), neck, face or any
other part of the body with an extended forearm, elbow, locked hands, palm,
fist, or the heel, back or side of the open hand; or gouge an opponent (A.R.
9-1-2-I).
b. No person subject to the rules shall strike an opponent with his foot or any
part of his leg that is below the knee.
c. There shall be no tripping. (Exception: Tripping the runner is not a foul.)

Penalty for the Above:
PENALTY—15 yards. For dead-ball fouls, 15 yards from the succeeding
spot. Automatic first down for fouls by Team B if not in conflict with other
rules. For fouls in the first half: Disqualification for the remainder of the
game. For fouls in the second half: Disqualification for the remainder of
the game and the first half of the next game. If the foul occurs in the second
half of the last game of the season, players with remaining eligibility shall
serve the suspension during the first game of the following season. The
disqualification is subject to review by Instant Replay (Rule 12-3-5-). [S38,
S24 and S47]
For games in which Instant Replay is not used: If a player is disqualified
in the second half, the conference may consult the national coordinator of
football officials who would then facilitate a video review. Based on the
review, if the national coordinator concludes that the player should not
have been disqualified, the conference may vacate the suspension. If the
national coordinator supports the disqualification, the suspension for the
next game will remain.

ACC Review Portion:
SECTION 6. Flagrant Personal Fouls
Player Ejection
ARTICLE 1.
When a player is disqualified from the game due to a flagrant
personal foul, that team’s conference shall automatically initiate a video review
for possible additional sanctions before the next scheduled game.
Foul Not Called
ARTICLE 2.
If subsequent review of a game by a conference reveals plays
involving flagrant personal fouls that game officials did not call, the conference
may impose sanctions prior to the next scheduled game.
