Thanks to everyone for all the kind words--much appreciated! Was a very warm day in NYC -- it hit a record temperature of 75 degrees, and was also 67% humidity. I finished at 4:16:05, but was happy with it because of the rough conditions (was also 12 minutes faster than last year).

I like the idea from MG44 to get to 44 and call it a career -- currently that would be 2nd on the NYC Marathon Streaker leaderboard:

The cool thing about this website is that they also denote with a color key off to the right which streaks are active (the aqua blue dot). So I can tell by this that I am one of 31 runners in the world that have a current streak of at least 31 straight NYC Marathons. And looking at the ages of some of the folks up top, many are in their 70s, so I should be able to move up a few spots every year for another decade or so.
