Congrats to The Canes.

Success for Miami is not a positive for Syracuse. We are trying (and it’s working) taking talent out of south florida
Success of any team in the country other then cuse technically isn’t good for us recruiting wise. Can’t be paranoid about that stuff. I would rather just have an ACC team win it all and shut up the media who says the ACC is trash.

BTW, the no-call at the end of the game was correct. The receiver was clearly also pushing off the DB; both have the same right to the ball. You almost never see pass interference called on a Hail Mary pass, for good reason. Too bad for the SEC.
The targeting call was suspect, as was the late flag on the pass interference on the last drive on 3rd down. The refs were trying their best to get the SECspn into the championship game. I think the non call worked out and I am surprised they didn't give Ole Miss another shot.

I am also rooting for Miami for the conference for all the reasons others on this thread have stated. That said, it never seems to matter how our league's top teams do in the post season. The pundits will say that is the only team in the league that is any good (ie: Clemson, FSU, Miami). They never say that about the Big18 or SEC.

Next fall at the start of the season, half the programs in the SEC will again start the season ranked in the top 25 and in conference losses during the season will rarely drop them out. SEC will continue to play cupcakes in non conference games without any penalties and the SEC will get preferred spots in the playoff.

The only non-sec head to head victory in the playoffs was an Ole Miss victory over Tulane.

Power 4 Conference Bowl Records vs. other conferences:
  • Big Ten: 9-4 (.692)
  • ACC: 9-4 (.692)
  • Big 12: 4-4 (.500)
  • SEC: 2-8 (.200)

  • ACC: 9-4 (.692)
  • Big 12: 4-4 (.500)
  • SEC: 2-8 (.200)
And after tonight, it will look like this:

  • ACC: 9-4 (.692)
  • Big Ten: 10-5 (.667)
  • Big 12: 4-4 (.500)
  • SEC: 2-8 (.200)

So it won't change :) after tonight. After January 19th the two best conferences will go for the best non-conference post season record :)

This isn’t the same Miami team that played like crap against us in the 1st half.
Being there in the stadium the body language at that point from Miami was so bad. We actually were beating them up in the trenches, but couldn’t move the ball or score because of our QB play. Once they realized that they got their crap together and really haven’t looked back since.

I enjoy shutting up the SEC homers that think their middle of the road teams can beat the top level teams of the ACC etc. because the conference is just so deep! Lol
3rd year in a row no SEC team in the title game. I expect them to push for NIL and transfer limits because it is clearly hurting them. The SEC had an almost monopoly on the national championship for 10 to 15 years before the NIL and transfer era.

Clemson losses in the Dome in 2017, goes on to win the national championship the next season

Miami losses in the Dome in 2024, we will find out if they win the national championship the next season

For Syracuse, things were mismanaged in the Winter Portal of last season, I think they were so focused on winning the 10th game that the moves of who needed to leave and who they needed to bring in just wasn’t thoroughly thought out at that time. Fortunately, they had the spring portal window and with the main acquisition of Angeli nearly masked a lot of issues with how the winter portal was handled. I don’t think we will make the mistakes again. I think the roster is only getting better from a talent and construction basis and the coaching staff is only getting better.

Notre Dame has to be scratching itself like a dog lol. Paul Finebaum has to be losing his mind.
The three best teams all year might really end up being Indiana, Miami, and Notre Dame. I know Notre Dame played a weak schedule down the stretch, but they really improved as a team from the early point in the season.

I’ve hated Miami my whole fanhood. I’m not going to start rooting for them to win playoff games or a national championship because it might help the conference

It also might make Miami leave and then what

I don’t want Miami to win the national championship. Hot take!

I am wondering if they were holding back a ton of NIL cash in case McCord came back. Once he left, they had some funds and at least made a few good moves in spring(Angeli obviously being a great move). Otherwise the winter portal was bizarre to say the least. I am sure they were focused on win 10 but they were playing a stripped down team, how hard were they focusing truly when they knew we would put up a zillion points?

The McCord thing definitely put things in a limbo. But also I think you would’ve seen more bold moves being made. Like as good as 2024 was we definitely had deficiencies that prevented it from being great. If you fully evaluated the roster then like they did this season with the moves being made it could’ve really put the result of that bowl game in flux. A lot more opt outs and potentially McCord even decides to sit. Like there was a huge push to keep the band mostly together. I wouldn’t change a thing, 10 wins is huge, but I’m sure they go about it differently if a similar situation comes up. Luckily they moved the portal back. The only way we are still playing games while the portal is open is if we’re in the playoff!

Congrats to the Canes for last night and today picking up when of the best portal QBs

miami is scum, not sure why so many on here seem keen on them winning
They did enough to make the ACC look a little better reputation wise. Having said that, rooting for Indiana to finish the job. Especially for college football, more satisfying to see a team win their conference and are undefeated on the way to a Natty and as a bonus with a Heisman winner.

watched the canes beat ole miss and rarely heard the names bain or mesidor mentioned. mesidor went out early and seemed a little banged up and bain was completely shut down. see who shows up next week.

What wasn’t shared publicly is half the team was recovering from the flu. A lot of guys were gassed early.
