Bortles is unbelievable. How the hell is UCF in this, let alone winning.
They are in it because they are carving up the Baylor E-fence. Which appears very easy to do, since they apparently have no "D"
No risk as I never made a prediction. However, we have some very good football analysts on this board. Made some really good points that were key in this game.Hope you just didn't jinx your team.
Fair enough. That being said (and the onside kick failure) as Dandy Don used to sing, 'Turn out the lights, the party's over' Congrats to UCF and OrlandoCuseNo risk as I never made a prediction. Happy for them. It is great they get to go to a MAJOR BOWL...I mean they are gonna lose by 50 to Baylor but I am happy for O'Leary and UCF. Really am
Well thats not very ballsy of youThey have a good deal of talent and good coaching - that matters for on the field results more than conference affiliation.
I bet that UCF makes another BCS-type game before Rutgers or Pitt or BCU or MD despite being in the AAC.
UCF will play like it has nothing to lose (because it doesn't). However, O'Leary isn't the type of coach that does something out of the ordinary to take to opponent by surprise. Baylor will know what UCF is going to bring and will be prepared for it (offensively). On defense, UCF will be lucky to hold Baylor under 50. They don't have the pass defense to contain BU. Hopefully UCF's offense is clicking because they will need to score a lot to keep up. UCF has some good skill players that can compete with BU's defense.

Should be Baylor - Oregon. That would be a crazy game.

even if you just look at senior year numbers, they're not in the same ballparkBlake Bortles seems a carbon copy of Ryan Nassib, IMO.
i'm going to take this opportunity to pat myself on the back for not saying anything stupid before the game about baylor. both teams with 550 yards. whoaLots of crow here

avg 500 ypg, 45 ppg in the 2 losses
big puzzle in college football is figuring out how to have a great offensive scheme that doesn't destroy your own defense.
i wonder how much of it is from defenses being so outmatched that they never have any little successes to learn from. it's like trying to learn how to hit a baseball thrown by randy johnson
I think they better balance you have, the better you will be suited to compete with really good teams. Thought UCF was really really ready to play especially on defense but to beat Baylor you are going to need to score at least 40 points or at least think that way. Teams with good talent cant be one dimensional. Bama might be able to shut down Baylor but many or most cant
i think bryce petty started to buckle under the pressure down the stretch. he might not be that goodOkie State held them to 450 yards and 17 points ... lets not make it sound like it can't be done.

On the flip side, your offense is also going to get more possessions against Baylor than normal and the Baylor D is going have spent a good deal of time on the field by the 4th quarter so getting 40 against Baylor might be like getting 30 against a normal team.
I don't know what this post means.
