Cooney bad back?

My whole issue with this is that you could see it, when he was moving without the ball, his breakaway layup miss, his defense, and his poor shot. Myself and others could see it and it was mentioned in the game thread even before the announcers said anything. I get we're trying to win games and all but come on JB there is absolutely zero reason to run him into the ground this year, none.

I normally support JB through thick and thin, but watching Cooney out there yesterday made me cringe, as somebody who has had some back pain in the past, you could see he was laboring bad when he was moving around. It really bothered me seeing him out there yesterday, maybe because we're not really playing for anything, or maybe it was just seeing Cooney not playing like I know he can. A healthy Cooney dunks that layup with ease, we've all seen it.

JB plays the guys he thinks can win for him. Winning is all he cares about.

I agree to a point, but the #4 overall pick in the draft never started a game for us and never averaged 30 minutes a game. We had a great team and didn't lose many games at all, but Dion could have easily played more.

Dion could have easily not been back his sophomore year.

He usually dunks that breakaway. That's how you know he's not himself, not to mention the short choppy steps from three point line to three point line.

Name me a freshman guard at SU, besides GMAC who shot the ball well as a freshman?

First name that comes to mind is DEVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Cold-blooded.

His Frosh season was prolly better than any season Gerry/Cooney had!

Brandon Triche shot 50% from the field, 40% from three-point range as a freshman.

Jonny Flynn shot 46% from the field, 35% from three-point range as a freshman.

Eric Devendorf shot 45% from the field, 38% from three-point range as a freshman.

That's just in the last 10 years.

Show off! I got Devo off the top of my head at least!

Gone where? He has had like 10 or 12 good games. I am curious where he is heading to because I read posts about Mike G leaving a lot.
Idle chatter and harmless speculation. To get Bryant next year SU needs a vacancy. It was thought it would be McCullough, but now it looks like he'll back so who will it be perhaps? A transfer was the next possibility. But with G playing like this and likely graduating, he could leave and get paid somewhere. It doesn't have to be the NBA .

do ya think boeheim ever checks his car's oil ? or does he believe that since they are parked so much the engine really doesn't need any lubrication ? just run it !

Well...he may believe that would be a bit premature... ;)
