I was thinking about Dino and what a great job, actually what an amazing job he has done in resurrecting our program and two things really stick out for me.
First the decision to stick with Eric after Tommy leads us to the great OT win over NC. That was a huge decision and more importantly the back story of how he came to the decision was so important for keeping the team unified. Truly a defining moment. Second is his handeling of ACs situation. It is obvious that AC has struggled with depression. The coaching change, devastating injuries both physically and mentally really took their toll on him. Now here he is back for a rare 6th year and Dino and by all accounts the team and most importantly AC are moving into a new season without it becoming "A story". No drama, no questions, no spot light. Just a simple yet powerful example of how a true leader, a guy who walks the walk handles an extremely difficult and important situation. La Familia is the real deal with Dino, his staff and this group of players. It is great to see AC back in the fold, back with his family. Regardless of how he performs on the field this year he has with the support of Dino and his teammates taken a huge step forward in his life and im really happy for him and grateful that we have Dino leading our program.
