but this bears noting:

Through the first six games, Kaleb Joseph attempted a grand total of 3 three pointers, and attempted 0 in 4 of those six games. During that stretch, Cooney shot 9 for 33 from deep (.273).

Over the last 4 games, Joseph has taken at least 2 threes in every game and has averaged 4 attempts per game. In that stretch, Cooney is shooting 11 for 26 (.423).

additionally, the only game of the first six in which Joseph attempted 2 threes just happens to be the only time in the first six games that Tyler Trevor managed to sink three triples.

of course it would be even better if Kaleb was hitting at more than 25%, but just having that other threat from the guard position may have shifted the defensive attention just enough to give Cooney enough space. it's not the only factor, but it looks like a significant one.

That and Cooney at least attempting to drive and make things happen on a regular basis IMO has stopped him from taking the truly horrible looks he seemed to be forcing up earlier in the season. When he takes 5-8 good looks from 3 he's going to make 3/4 of them pretty much every game.

Great stat BTW moqui.
