Georgia Tech is currently 9-2
If they beat two top 10 teams Georgia and Florida State to get 11-2 and Ohio State lost another could 11-2 make the CFB playoff?

I mean Tech would probably need UGA to win the SEC Championship game as well, but could you see an 11-2 Ga. Tech making the CFB playoff?

GT will be a tough test for FSU. Unique style of offense that can keep FSU's offense on the sideline.

In no particular order they need:

1. To beat FSU by a LOT
2. Miss State to lose to Ole Miss
3. Alabama to lose to Auburn
4. Georgia to win the SEC championship game
5. Wisconsin to beat Ohio State in the Big 10 championship game
6. UCLA to beat Oregon in the Pac 12 championship game
7. Texas to beat TCU
8. Kansas State to beat Baylor
9. A couple teams to quickly land on probation

That UNC loss really sinks them. They should have had that game.

By the way, #1 thru #8 are all possible, and would really make that selection show interesting.

Georgia Tech to get to 11-2 would be beating a top 10 SEC Georgia Bulldog team on the road and then a top 4 Florida State on a neutral field. They would shoot up the polls if they won both of those games.

The SEC is getting 1 team.
Oregon/UCLA needs to win it out for the Pac-12 to get a team.
Big XII just needs TCU to beat Texas and Baylor to beat Kansas State and they should be good.
Florida State just needs to win out.
Ohio State needs to beat Michigan/Wisconsin.

I think Georgia Tech is a dark horse if they can get some cooperation and they win out.

I agree its not likely but it is possible. They would also need USC to beat UCLA this weekend.

Paul Johnson just bought himself another 5 years... This guy was pretty much done end of last season

Why not dream? FSU and GT both make it - if....

1. FSU loses to GT and ends up 12-1
2. Georgia wins the SEC championship (after losing to GT)
3. Miss St loses either to Ole Miss or in the SEC Championship (if Bama loses to Auburn)
4. Bama loses to Auburn and/or to Georgia
5. KST beats Baylor
6. OSU loses either to Mich/Wisky

Leaving for the playoff,
1. Ore/Ucla (Pac 12 championship winner)
2. TCU
3. FSU
4. GT

Very unlikely as a 2 loss Bama still might sneak in - or a 2 loss Ole Miss. But it's possible.

Good question. If the committee were to use the 'how you finish' factor used in college basketball they would definitely be at the top of that list.

Really hope they beat Georgia. Don't think they will get in the playoff unless a lot happens. Still, if they beat Georgia that ACC Championship game will have the potential to be pretty great.

Tech beat UGA on the road they would probably move up to the 10-12 range in the poll. It is very unlikely to happen, but it warrants some consideration if Tech beats UGA as the following weekend all the top teams would be playing.

They couldn't possibly do that running that dinosaur offense! That would be...be...well...sacreligious and totally against the grain of great modern offenses! It can't be allowed!

I guess Coach Johnson is no longer on the hot seat.
