IMO Ashton has shown a real lack of leadership by saying whatever he wants to the press about the team. Grading the performance of the offense as a D or D+, saying he wants Terrell in there at QB, he needs to toe the line and let his coaches do that kind of talking. That kind of action tells me Ashton thinks he's bigger than this team and his coaches, that's a big problem and the last thing you need is that kind of headache in a position to override a coach's decision.
He's just fine where he is and he might be even better on the bench if he keeps running his mouth. That's one thing Marrone did well, he didn't allow singular voices disrupt team unity.
I don't know what Broyld had said about the offense to the press or anyone else for that matter. What I do know is he appears to be a force out there on the field. He clearly has NFL potential.
If he is saying stuff that the rest of the team agrees with, We don't gain much by benching him.
