Couple o' things

I understand your point. And I'm not saying he isn't capable of being a change of pace. But against ACC teams, we need somebody that is a threat at PG. That's the reality.

I don't want this team to be 18-10, 8-8. I want us to be 25-5, 12-4. I guess the bar has been lowered in recent years. Which really, really sucks.

To do that, it takes much better talent than Symir Torrence & Joe Girard running the PG. That's my point.

Hope I am wrong, but based on the sample size I have seen from both players... neither is going to be a lead guard for a team that has any sort of championship aspirations.

The way I see it is that the combination of the two can still get us to be a good team. I think we land in the middle of where you are at vs one end or the other. I think with the class next year there is hope for the PG position.

Joe looked better but not quantum better. Symir does some things Joe doesn't. Obviously I'd rather one guy be the answer.. kind of like our center position over the years- it's not that way.

I think we can win say 22 games this year if they both do more of the good we saw last night vs the bad. We aren't a 25 win regular season team unless we catch a couple breaks. We also don't look an 18 win team

Joe was focused solely last night on setting the table for others and he was decent doing that. I think we are going to be surprised by his improvement this year and I have been as critical of him as anybody.

Hope you are right. And you may be. I just didn't see how his athleticism or quickness have improved to the level of being effective against better teams.

In the past, the only way he's been truly effective against bigger guards has been to chuck threes from deep and hope to make a few.

As a team, we have very little in the way of creation off the dribble. That's a dangerous place to live when shots aren't falling.

If you want this team to be 25-5, you’re going to need upgrades at more than just the PG position. Agree the bar has been lowered, but we still seem to play well in March.

This team has offensive weapons….Symir can be very effective if paired with Buddy and Cole….which I think will be the case in most cases.

Run him out there with Jimmy, Bennie, Joe, and Frank and we got issues, no doubt.

but he’s a very nice compliment to the existing pieces. Joe gets shot happy - Remember Joe chucking that 25 foot three when Buddy was en fuego and wide open last year? That’s not going to happen with Sy. We need a good distributor with our shooters.

he’s a much better defender up top than Joe…that is evident in 1 game.

We will need both PGs, but I’m very happy with what I saw last night.

He did the first half, second half he seemed like normal Joe.
