I understand your point. And I'm not saying he isn't capable of being a change of pace. But against ACC teams, we need somebody that is a threat at PG. That's the reality.
I don't want this team to be 18-10, 8-8. I want us to be 25-5, 12-4. I guess the bar has been lowered in recent years. Which really, really sucks.
To do that, it takes much better talent than Symir Torrence & Joe Girard running the PG. That's my point.
Hope I am wrong, but based on the sample size I have seen from both players... neither is going to be a lead guard for a team that has any sort of championship aspirations.
The way I see it is that the combination of the two can still get us to be a good team. I think we land in the middle of where you are at vs one end or the other. I think with the class next year there is hope for the PG position.
Joe looked better but not quantum better. Symir does some things Joe doesn't. Obviously I'd rather one guy be the answer.. kind of like our center position over the years- it's not that way.
I think we can win say 22 games this year if they both do more of the good we saw last night vs the bad. We aren't a 25 win regular season team unless we catch a couple breaks. We also don't look an 18 win team
