D was basically solid, but there were three or four badly blown coverages. Also, their QB play was not very good. Allison was a statue and could be sacked any time there was even a little bit of penetration.
Worst of the blown non-coverages was saved by Dino's timeout.
Now, of course, we were down a couple of players, so that has to have made a difference.
by the second series, i knew their QB play was at such a level that we would win if we stopped getting those stupid penalties.
i am really happy about the result, but if Grier had played the game would have been much more of a legitimate measuring stick. I do not understand why a kid would play the entire season and then walk away from a bowl game to "protect" his future. Dungey would not have done that in a million eons.
