I am not liking this weak Big East stuff. It is no fun at all to beat up on a formerly glorious opponent that is now lying in a ditch, bleating softly, blood leaking from their nose. Okay, Nova didn't exactly lie down, but does anyone else feel like that? Now Pitt comes to the Dome, and this year, of all years, we have the players to beat them. Huzzah! Except, they are staggering up on the shore after a shipwreck with pirates and sharks have been taking huge bites out of them. I'm sorry, is this "fun?"

I just feel a little petulant that during a year when we should be able to beat down teams we seldom beat down, they are already beat down.

I guess we still can't sleep on UConn or Georgetown. I welcome any attitude adjustment you are ready to give me. And I do understand that winning is a lot better than not winning!

It is good preparation for what life will be like in the ACC.

Very true, until the middle to bottom of the ACC improves we will only have a few big games per season in conference. Duke, UNC and the token other good team. even looks like Pitt is imploding before going ACC and may not recover from it. They have style issues anyways with the ACC and now they have players who can't play that style to begin with. Lots of turnover under Dixon with the coaching staff and poor player evaluation in recruiting. There is also simply no flexibility in Dixon's system to accomidate players strengths and weaknesses.

Well, it is fun to stomp old rivals, but odd that we have to be concerned more with Providence & Rutgers than Pitt & Villanova.

You can be sure that Georgetown, UConn, Louisville & West Virginia will be pointing to our games; and Marquette will be a tough out as an away game.

Does it make you happier that we showed some vulnerable spots last night?

Nope. I'd really enjoy kicking Pitt's butt. BTW, Dixon has an excellent recruiting class coming in next year including a top 10 6'11 center (Steven Adams) who is a beast, rated higher than DC2. So I'm not feeling bad for them. Also don't under estimate the upcoming games against ND, GT, UConn and Ville...they will be very tough games.

Boy, I wish I could believe this, but...Pitt has been nothing short of very good for a while now. Good class coming in next year. They will be fine.

Man, I had to think about that question for a good minute! No, certainly not. But I apparently have a bit of a split personality, because I want to play awesomely every game and I want worthy opponents. Stuckinbig11 said that is what it will be like in the ACC. And that clarified for me that one of the main things I hate about changing conferences is that the ACC is ONLY Duke and Carolina. And the Big East gave us 5 or 6 worthy opponents every season. We were clearly superior.

And now, irony of ironies, the Big East is seeming more like the ACC. Bleh.
