Cooney better outside shooter, no question. Defensively, he was solid in the zone but in M2M, I don't think he'd be as good. I also love JJ's athleticism and he's the better passer.

Cooney was bashed on this board nearly as much as any player. He was a very solid player, but he took a beating here. He was on better teams than what we're seeing the last few years, so we remember him more fondly.

Watch the games in our NCAA run his senior year. The steal against the Zags where they ruled him out of bounds. Some tough drives to the hoop against UVA. He would be the best defensive player we have had here since the family reunion and it wouldn't be close.

Solid player, but in a role for three years that he wasn't cut out for because of the roster. Took way too many 2 pt FGAs and played way too many minutes. This was the beginning of the end for JAB teams. A small forward plugged in as a PG and shot maker, a designated shooter, and a skinny PF playing center because the projects were either all injured or didn't get any better.

It's so sad what Boeheim, the trustees, Wildhack, Red and everyone involved has allowed this program to become. I thought I was stroking out when CJ had that go ahead slam in the first Duke game in the Done. My field of vision went black. And now follow and I'm not mad about the losses so much as what we lost.

If you want to be depressed, watch this. We're so far away from this I'm not sure we'll ever get it back. Man the Centro buses had Beat Duke! One of the downtown office buildings set up their windows to say Beat Duke. 35,000 plus. College Gameday. Kids camping out for days to be the first ones into the Dome. The people in charge of protecting the basketball program failed the fans. Failed all of us.

This is pretty spot on! A pretty fluky FF run in 2016 kind of masked things at the time.
