Interesting, I find out that Crowder won the award while I'm watching a True Blood DVD with Tara giving a big speech.

Congrats to Crowder, the best True Blood actress to ever win the BEPOY award.

Nice player, but cumulated a ton of points in the first 30 minutes of ballgames. Never seemed to come up big down the stretch. Game on the line, I want Crowder taking that shot, not Jones.

FWIW, Jones took 100 more shots than Crowder. 100!

KJ took 3 more shots and played 6 more minutes per game than Crowder. And outside of DJO, Marquette doesn't have much. You could argue that Hinds/Kilici/Browne are better than anything Marquette has (taking Bryant and DJO out of the equation)

My guess is someone at the BE headquarters leaked those awards. Would have to assume JB won coach of the year - and either they didn't wan't to leak that info tonight given the day's news...or the trophy will look like:

I go with Jones on this one. He put up the numbers and he didn't have anyone to play off the quality of a DJO, etc... I'm not upset about it though, I can see lots of reasons to give it to Crowder as well.

TOTAL SCREWJOB to Kevin Jones. It was given to Jae Crowder because WVU is leaving the conference in a nasty divorce and the BE headquarters is being spiteful. How can you lead the conference in scoring AND rebounding and not be the Player of the Year. Its BS and if they want to make the 14-4 vs. 9-9 argument then gave the award to Kris Joseph. 17-1 >>> 14-4. This is the crap by Marinatto and company that ticks me off. If they wanted to give it to Crowder than they should have made it Co-POYs.

Crowder was my "favorite opposing BE player to watch" both this year and last year. Not only does he have great skills, but he also plays with such unbridled enthusiasm. Players like him are good for the game because he brings attention in a positive way.

Crowder won big games. Jones' team might limp into the NCAAs. No issue with that award at all.

Disagree.. all else equal, Crowder's team won. WVU has been mediocre all season. Both put up great stats but Crowder's actually mattered in the end.

For ROY - I don't think it was all that close. Harkless, and than a pretty massive gap to #2 and beyond. Kid has been fantastic.
