And Choppa, to date, looks like he was way underrated. There’s a reason folks said he was our best recruit in two decades. He’s getting better every day.

Everyone looks good when they are hitting 3’s. A guy like Donny is wowing me when he’s taking it to the rack and finishing through contactHe seems to be settling in. Think the three point shooting was Fools Gold tonight. His D and finishing in traffic is a work in progress. He's better on the glass than I expected. Can't wait to see how his game has evolved later this year.
So we should root for him to miss all his 3's !!Tankathon already has Freeman @ 35, just outside Round 1.
If he can keep hitting treys he moves up into the first round and is gonzo for sure.
If yesterday's 4 for 4 turns out to be an aberration maybe there is an outside chance he stays and tries to play himself into the lottery.
Yes, he's bad on D but so is the entire team, which suggests a coaching issue. I'd argue the best way to improve his D is to get pro coaching. Clearly what the staff's instructing on the defensive end isn't working. As good as he is on the offensive end he’s equally bad on the defensive end. He will never get on the floor in an NBA game unless he makes monumental jumps on the defensive end. He lacks strength and toughness. He might get drafted, but he’ll spend two years in the G League. He could make more money in college.
He should never sit unless completely gassedDonnie is actually 6th nationally in defensive rebounding %, and first in the P5. He rebounds 33% of the other offensive misses when he’s on the floor
then why does Evan Miya show him so low in defensive Bayesian performance rating?Donnie is actually 6th nationally in defensive rebounding %, and first in the P5. He rebounds 33% of the other offensive misses when he’s on the floor

Lack of time on the floor?
Or the team (supporting cast) dragging him down?
Nothing saps away joy like telling someone to enjoy something nowFreeman is 6’9”, athletic, averaging 14 and 9 on 50% shooting.
He’s either getting drafted or getting paid big bucks by a school actually committed to being good at basketball.
Enjoy him now. The most likely outcome by a wide margin is that we will not see him in orange (at least not our orange) next year.
he needs to do both...cant be a 1 trick ponyI hope last night wasn’t fools gold. Red has been trying to get Donnie to stop jacking up threes. He’s been bad for several games. Last night he made four in a row from straight on after being left wide open. He’s strength is getting near the basket and to continue to move to the open spots. He’s not at his best when he hangs out at the three point line. Kudos for him last night knocking down those shots. They were all big shots.
You're not wrong! It's in his best interest to only take catch and shoot wide open 3s. Respectable percentage on a small sample size is where he should live. And focus on rebounding everything and scoring at the bucket. Do that, plus measurables and potential, and he's easily in the first round.Freeman shouldn't shoot any more 3's this season. He can say to look at the UAlbany game for evidence he's capable of making 3's.
If all seriousness, Freeman needs to gain muscle but we all know the NBA drafts on potential.
Taller I think now.Freeman is 6’9”, athletic, averaging 14 and 9 on 50% shooting.
