When Holy Cross decided to make a coaching change after last season, the answer to Syracuse's prayers was about to reveal himself.

Sophomore faceoff man Ben Williams, a St. Paul, Minnesota native who had won 53 percent of his attempts for a Holy Cross team that finished 3-12 last spring, decided to transfer after coach Jim Morrissey was fired. He wound up at Syracuse, where he competed last fall with half a dozen other specialists and moved steadily up the depth chart.
