I can assure you that by his Senior year Zonk was a "name".

I wonder why nobody ever mentions Csonka and Morris when they talk about great backs from SU?

Couldn't agree more...it seems that they're hardly ever mentioned, and both went on to have stellar pro careers as well.

#47 deserves to be hanging from the rafters too.

Definitely. Had a great college and professional career.

Csonka rushed for more yards per game over his Syracuse career than Brown, Davis or Little, and is in the College Football Hall of Fame

Confession: My bother and I used to call this "Csonka music" and we'd march around the room to it,. thinking of big Larry blasting one hole after another in the defense until he hit pay dirt. (Actually, sometimes I still do it.)

I got a chance to talk to Floyd Little this summer, and he asked me a good question: Gator Bowl - SU vs Tennessee - SU set the rushing record which I believe still stands to this day. Our backfield was Csonka and Little and guess who? I was surprised at the answer, but it makes you wonder how many great players SU has had.

I think Csonka gets mentioned a lot, Morris probably flies a little under the radar.
