Just a hint, its best not to use a snowy owl avatar in WA and OR except inside Seattle and Portland.

I thought it was the Spotted Owl endangered-species issue that so infuriated the lumber industry. Snowy owls are native to Alaska and are not a big presence in the lower 48.

You are right, it was the spotted owl that was the issue down in WA and OR. Thanks for the correction. Never seen either one but I have a great horned owl living not too far away. He is a sight but not as cute as your snowy owl.

I've read there are only 10 wild spotted owls left in southern BC, Canada. Seems that the barred owl is invading the spotted owl habitat on the NW coast. The BC gvt has authorized shooting barred owls in order to protect the spotted ones.

I also approve the use of a snowy owl avatar in Alaska.
