...the ones that are free and read about expansion, Big 12, Orange Bowl etc. For whatever reason the posts are significantly made by WVU trolls...it is laughable and quite sad. I certainly hope we continue to monitor and keep these trolls out of our site. The negativity, lies, and totally unbalance views are quite rediculous.
Yesterday David Teel in response from another sports reporter, responded to the Dude of WV twiting saying that no one of repute can verify nor confirm what the Dude's twit says...no wonder the internet and social media is basically BS.

The WVU troll army is actually quite an impressive thing...much in the same way that a spreading wildfire is impressive.

How a single spark of misinformation can be twisted, manipulated and distributed by this deranged fanbase truly is unique in college sports. Their random organization is amazing. With no direction, they take bad information and infest other message boards with it. Like a wave, this bad information builds momentum upon itself until rational people begin to believe this misinformation.

The truly amazing thing is that WVU fans really believe this information to be true. Some may disagree...but I for one am glad they are no longer on our schedule.

The best I've seen recently was the Dude of WV saying that FSU is a lock for the Big XII as Louisville will be giving them the $20 million ACC buyout and then the Big XII would give FSU another 12 million.

The Dude kills brain cells faster than using Meth and bath salts together.

wait...Doc Holiday now signs off: Why doesnt the ACC have a GOR and what 4 Teams in ACC voted against it...supposedly this was the emergency meeting a while ago...contracts as we know are made to be broken. If stability is infact in place, a GOR does not necessarily need to be signed (of course it can always be broken); and if stability is not in place than the GOR can give a "sense" of team work and stability (and we know that may not be true).

I made the mistake of browsing his twitter. Have to love that Georgia Tech and Maryland are now BEGGING to get into the big 12. And that for a while the 12 could have had those two plus FSU and clemson.

If that was true, the 12 would have taken those four schools and called it a day.

He's also saying that the Orange Bowl is going to be the least attractive of the major bowls. This year, the Champions Bowl would have had Georgia against Kansas State. The Orange Bowl would have had Clemson and either Arkansas or Wisconsin. Which game would have had more national interest?

Campaign of misinformation. Nothing more.

Yes, the WVU troll army is impressive. The impression it makes, specifically, is one of a fanbase that fears deep in its soul that it has screwed up royally by abandoning its eastern and southern roots to play football with dustbowl colleges and to play bitch to Deloss Dodds. Sure, part of the motivation is the way the ACC dismissed them as a serious candidate for membership due to their academic shortcomings. But at least as big a part of their motivation is fear of the future in the so-called "Big Meth" conference.

I sometimes visit other boards and still have never seen his posts and rarely WVU posts. I am sure the things he has said based on posts here aren't reality but I still maintain none of this has anything to do with what he says. It seems as though he reacts to what is going on and embellishes and spins. But he is certainly not the genesis of what ia actually going on in discussions between conferences and schools.

BTW, those who said things will look pretty much the same in 5 years haven't paid attention the past 20 years. There will be more changes as this is only about 75% to the ultimate end game.

I don't think they "screwed up royally." I just think they didn't have any other choice.

I don't think they did either. I'm just saying that the impression I get is that that fear is there. WVU belongs in the SEC, but it looks like Mike Slive disagrees with me.

Best ACC Scout board on expansion is Georgia Tech's. Just wonderfully brilliant stuff. Loved the response to the Dude saying GT was "on the clock" to join FSU as #12.

Only engineering minds would come up with some of those responses. :)

Cheers,
Neil

Agree that expansion will continue. I think this is a breather period while everyone tries to reassess the landscape. The real question is what/who does the SEC want. I believe they will go to 16, so that leaves 2 spots. I don't think Texas will consider going to the SEC. Ultimately, think think they end up Pac16 with TTech, Oklahoma and OkSt.
I don't think the SEC wants FSU -- make that Florida doesn't want FSU. Just the same, that's what I think happens. SEC grabs FSU and WVU. (Clemson will be left out of this.)
But everything else will depend on what the SEC does. The SEC is the lead dog in all of this, and in the next (Final?) round of expansion, they are not going to be waiting to see who is left. They're going to identify who they want, and go after them hard.
The ACC will have three spots, and will add ND, UConn and USF (Academics be damned.)
The Big10 will add Kansas, KSU, Iowa St & Buttgers.

Disclaimer: This is, of course, idle speculation and purely opinion on my part for the purpose of Internet conversation. Any similarity to Big Lie theories propagated by the WVU Due is purely coincidence and has no bearing in fact.

I've never visited another team's board. Why do people do this?

To see what other fans are saying, and engage in friendly banter. I used to go to the Ucon board all of the time. But I got so tired of not being able to have civil conversations, that I finally gave it up. It was pointless.

I agree with this. They didn't have other options at the time. I think maybe they should have held tight for a bit. They are a fish out of water in the B12 unless a plethora of teams from the eastern 1/2 of the country move to the B12.

Not to contest your assertion that you go to other boards and have never encountered "the dude" or any of the other WVU locusts but could you give me the names of a few of those boards. If you like I can provide you with links for quite a few examples on many different team boards of WVU bitterness. I just find it interesting that you continue to discount the postings of many board members that batty WVU acolytes are infesting other boards. If "the dude" wasn't noticeably spewing garbage on the web why was he interviewed and mocked by hosts on WRAL. That interview was linked on this very site...maybe you didn't catch that one either

Yeah, if they had stayed put, they probably win the BE another time or two, they might have found themselves in a better place for the next round of expansion. Still, can't blame them one bit for thinking they had to jump when they did.

Probably not the same boards because I read few free boards if that is where he posts. I am more inclined to read the "pay" boards of some select schools. ;)

I also read a few free ones like the ND Indy one as well as on occasion Texas, FSU, PedSt.

Here is what will happen. For 20 years the dilemma has been 4 super conferences or 5. 4x16, 5x16 or 5x14. How many teams is enough? How many teams are too many? There are 2 teams and 2 teams only who will ultimately decide this. Notre Dame primarily, then Texas.

1. If ND ever goes fully to the ACC, then the B12 will be killed off and we will have 4 supers.

2. If ND ever goes fully to the B12, then the ACC (as we know it) will be killed off and we will have 4 supers.

3. If ND ever goes fully to the B10 (or somehow stays indy for eternity) both the ACC and B12 will likely survive and we will have 5 supers.

Unless....

4. #3 happens with ND and then Texas bails the B12 for the PAC10 or B10. Then the B12 dies and we have 4 supers.

Scenario 1, 2 and 4 leaves us with 4 supers while scenario 3 leaves us with 5. So figure out what ND does and to some extent Texas, and you will have the end game partially figured out and then will need to place what teams where.

This is why the courtship of ND by both the ACC and B12 has been strong. Its a death match between those two conferences.

I think the B12 is going to be killed off anyway when the PAC, SEC and B10 figure out what they're going to do. They are in the most vulnerable position.

While I believe the Big 12 is more vulnerable than the ACC, I do believe both the SEC and Big Ten have reasons not to want the ACC to succeed. Only the Pac has reason for the Big 12 to fail. And they are in the weakest position of the top 3 conferences.

Cheers,
Neil

Not sure about that. Texas, OK and OKst are encroaching on the SEC's southwestern boundary. And all three have had success. I think the SEC would love to see Texas and OU in the Pac, if they never end up in the SEC.

Actually, the SEC with expansion with A&M and Mizzou are encroaching on Big 12 turf. But the SEC knows that if the Big 12 fails UT and OU go to either the BiG together or with TTU and OSU to the Pac, the latter being the more likely destination when the LHN ultimately fails.

The SEC covets the states of Virginia and North Carolina.

Cheers,
Neil
