Curry makes 77 NBA distance threes in a row

i love curry. I am for it all the way and I would love to see golden state win it. but none of it means jack if he can't beat the spurs and etc. in this playoffs.

golden state is going to roll everyone in their path barring injury. The spurs are too old to hang with them in a series where you play every other night.

I don't have the same confidence as you, but it would be enjoyable

They have alot of naysayers claiming that their style of play wont work in the playoffs. BS. Their style of play will actually thrive in the playoffs. Mark Jackson had no idea what to do with the talent on that team. With Kerr at the helm, look for a run to the finals. The only reason I think they might have trouble in the finals is because they will have gone through a gauntlet getting there whereas the winners of the east will have defeated lillipucians.

I beg to differ, the Spurs maybe older but Coach Pop is the best coach in the NBA and has been able to rest his players all year. The Spurs have only one player who averages more than 30 minutes a game (Leonard - 31.7) and only three more that average more than 25 minutes a game (Parker - 28.6, Duncan - 28.9 and Green - 28.7) then they have three more that average over 20 minutes (Diaw - 24.4, Ginobili - 22.7 and Bellinelli - 22.5). They have 11 players that average over 15 minutes a game. Pop knows how to spread it around to keep his players fresh for the playoffs. In the Spurs last ten games they have had only 11 players play more than 30 minutes and only 34 players average more than 25 minutes. That is called resting your players for the playoff run, Pop does this better than anyone. Oh yea, and they have won all ten of those games with an average margin of victory of 15.7 with a 15 point win over the Warriors.

Now lets look at the Warriors, who are younger than the Spurs. The Warriors have had three players who have averaged over 30 minutes a game, (Curry - 32.8, Thompson - 32.1 and Green - 31.7) and have 2 more players that average over 25 minutes a game, (Barnes - 28.4 and Iguodola - 27.0). They have only eight players that average more than 15 minutes a game. Even though they are younger overall, I believe the minutes will catch up with them just as much as the Spurs. In the last 10 games the Warriors have had 23 players play more than 30 minutes a game and 45 players play more than 25 minutes. Their average margin of victory is only 6 points a game with 2 losses, with one being to the Spurs by 15 points.

By looking at the numbers I honestly feel the Spurs will be fresher going into the play-offs than the Warriors. I realize the Warriors players are much younger but I think the Spurs team-concept play will win out in the end. I believe the western conference finals will come down to the Warriors and the Spurs, with the Spurs winning in 7 games.

They won't have to worry about the East because they won't make it to the finals.

...with a joint in one hand and a solo cup in the other, no doubt :)
A kid at my kid's soccer club did 1,000 juggles in a row without the ball touching the ground, during warm-ups. He didnt miss; they just started practice.

Oh please. The Spurs go legitimately 10 deep and play fixed minutes. They also beat down GS a couple of days ago.

The Warriors are certainly capable of winning a series against San Antonio, but that doesn't mean that they will. GS has marginal playoff experieince. It is funny how every year, people bury the Spurs and write them off as too old.

History tells us that if healthy the Spurs will play their best bball in the playoffs. Golden State can take them down in a series IMO but I think they will have to step up their intensity and find a way to play their best bball at the same time.

I remember I went to a shooting clinic where the "shot doctor" made 97/100 3's. It's seriously unbelievable. I got picked out of the crowd to receive some pointers and ended up making like 20 in a row and was feeling really good about myself and then he went and did that and I was just like "Well, damn."

Bird made 89 3s in a row in a shootaround before playing the Pistons in a playoff game in Boston. Rodman saw this happen and ran into the Detroit lockerroom to tell his teammates, who were so intimidated that they laid an egg in the game. Bird said in a later interview that the game was over before tip-off...

Seems to me that people haven't been paying attention to the Spurs the last month or so? They're rampaging people right now. (14 out of 15, only one of those by single digits). And Leonard is insane right now. I guess the Warriors would be the favorite because they are having an all time series and would have home court, but I think the Spurs are the only team that could realistically beat the Warriors before the Finals and I'd give them at least like 40-45% chance.

They probably can't beat Golden State or San Antonio, but it's also worth noting the Clippers have won 14 of 15. Their only loss was to Golden State in that time period in a game Draymond Green didn't play.

I agree with you that if it's anyone else besides the Spurs or Warriors out of the west now I will be shocked.

Who does Tony Parker guard on Golden State? Leonard and Green are great wing defenders for SAS, and you could put them on Curry and Thompson, but that still leaves Parker on Barnes or Iguodala. That is the matchup I attack if I am Golden State.

Yeah if i were Pop i'd stick Parker on Iggy, I don't know if Iggy would really be able to exploit that on the block.

Probably just going to have to do a lot of helping. I mean, there really isn't a team that looks at Golden State and says, "Oh yeah, we match up really well with them". That's why they've had one of the best regular seasons of all-time.

At the same time, while the Warriors are one of the top 3 defensive teams in the league, the Spurs offense is pretty much impossible to stop when they get going. Curry will likely struggle trying to defend Parker, much like Parker will struggle with Curry if that's who he guards.

If a team can get Bogut in foul trouble, they'll stand a very good chance of beating the Warriors defense IMO, and the Spurs, with Duncan in the post, and Parker/Leonard attacking, could REALLY take advantage of that.

Hasn't their defense been pretty awesome even without Bogut? (Just checked, they allow 103 points per 100 possessions with Bogut sitting, that would be about 5th or 6th over the full season, so they go from amazing (97 points per 100) with Bogut to really good, but not super elite, without him.

Anyway, I agree about the Spurs; if Bogut isn't on the court a lot when they play, huge advantage to the Spurs. But I bet they could get by other teams with Bogut in foul trouble. The most amazing thing is that for as great as the Warriors have been (like, historically great), they've been outscored when Steph sits. Granted there could be some noise with him sitting in blowouts where the intensity is down.

Agreed with all of that.
