Curry makes 77 NBA distance threes in a row

Without Durant on OKC the Golden State run to the Finals won't be as hard. OKC/NO first round, POR/HOU second round, SA/DAL-MEM/LAC in the WCF isn't that bad as it could have been. If POR/HOU is the 4-5 I can't not see GS in the WCF.

In the East as a C's fan I am interested in this BOS-CLE series. Since February 1st these are the top 2 teams in the East record wise. Cleveland 24-9 and Boston 23-10.

Please don't talk yourself into it being a series.

Cleveland is winning this series unless LBJ gets hurt, but Boston could win 2 games I think. They got bodies to defend Lebron in Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder, and Evan Turner. Boston's weakness is post defending and Mozgov doesn't scare me.
Isaiah Thomas has been insane for the Celtics. He has made more free throws for the Celtics in 25 games than Rajon Rondo made the last 3 years.

Donna Ditota made a comment in a story last summer about how well NBA players can shoot. During the NBA draft a guy who had 1% better 3-point shooting percentage from Utah State was drafted over CJ Fair. I think if a player has any hope to play in the NBA they have to an absolute on-fire sharp shooter under any kind of pressure. The NBA is all about shooting percentage as Donna stated.

Ok, I'm still taking the under on 1.5 games though. A lot of those guys you mentioned can be good defenders, but Lebron is too big (also too good) for any of them. I'll take a sweep.

That b eing said, hell of a job by Brad Stevens, don't mean to downplay what he's accomplished.

Pacers are an intriguing team to me if they get in with Paul George back.

Would be funny if a year after the 8 seed Hawks took the top seed Indy to 7 in the first round if the 8 seed Pacers took the top seed Hawks to 7.

Bradley or Smart on Lebron James?

Who does Tony Parker guard on Golden State? Leonard and Green are great wing defenders for SAS, and you could put them on Curry and Thompson, but that still leaves Parker on Barnes or Iguodala. That is the matchup I attack if I am Golden State.

It really doesn't matter, just look at the last time they played, Spurs 15 point victory. They were up 19 at halftime. I am not sure who Tony was guarding, but I do know that he was +15 while he was on the court. Come to think of it, with Leonard getting 7 steals you don't need much defense from Tony. Spurs took the series 2 games to 1 during the season, splitting at Golden State.

Spurs take it all. Doesn't matter if the Cavs or GS get in their way.

You very well could be right. The Regular Season may be boring to San Antonio. They didn't even have their full lineup until March. I can see San Antonio winning a long series against Golden State and then beating Cleveland in 5 or 6, but I also wouldn't be a bit surprised if this was a "changing of the guard" type season out west and Golden State wipes the floor clean throughout the west playoffs.

I think the highlighted part covers it--they had injuries all year, and are just starting to peak [right at playoff time].

I just don't think that GS matches up nearly as well with SA as you do, and the season series seems to bear that out. Of course, I could also be influenced by that game I watched about a week ago, where the Spurs just slaughtered the Warriors...

If the Spurs are healthy, they are the team to beat. What was it that Ric Flair used to say [about changing of the guard]... ?

"Diamonds are forever and so is Ric Flair"...can't say I disagree with you too much. I think the series is a complete toss up. I also think whoever wins the West beats Cleveland, but the Lebron lovers don't like hearing that.

My guess is whoever wins the West is the favorite, but Cleveland could benefit from an easier path.

I really can't decide about this series assuming it happens. The Spurs have been awesome ever since the Knicks beat them (how did this happen?) but the Warriors have had a historically great season. Honestly even witrh the Warriors having home court if my life depended on it I'd prob take the Spurs.

Would be a great series--no doubt.

Golden State has a little Sacramento 2002 vibe to me. I don't want to see a Game 6 situation with the Warriors up 3-2 and in San Antonio and we get Dick Bavetta, Bennett Salavdore and co. to get a game 7 where the Spurs would scare the crap out of me.
Spurs run to the WCF is going to be hard for sure if they don't beat New Orleans tonight they will likely be the 6 seed and have to beat the Rockets and Clippers-Mavs to get to the Warriors.

I'm not going to pencil the Warriors-Spurs matchup in yet. One of them could easily get cold at the wrong time and teams like the Clippers, Mavs, or even Rockets are good enough to pull off an upset if that happens.

I'd put the Rockets ahead of the Mavs there, but I really don't see it happening.

I certainly wouldn't predict it, but it's funny to me how all year, everyone talked about how much of a blood bath the western playoffs would be, and now that we're actually here, everyone says it's basically no contest until the WCF; same as the East.

Only 4 real contenders out West. Golden State, San Antonio, LA Clippers, Memphis. Memphis is a bad matchup for SA in my opinion. San Antonio is a bad matchup for GS. I would bet on a SA-GS WCF though.

I think the series not involving the Warriors and Spurs will be close but ultimately probably won't matter in determining the winner.

for the flair quote i think that most pertains"

"to be the man, you gotta beat the man"

followed by..

"WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
