Curt Cignetti approach

We beat that QB last season.
Yep I know. He don’t play for Cal or that coach anymore though. I also would take McCord over him every day of the week and twice on Tuesdays

Here's what we gotta/gonna do so lets go out and do it. Went from going through the motions to having fun kickin butt until the final whistle. Saturdays in Bloomington the bars were full and the stadium was empty, Now it's the reverse.

I believe Vince Lombardi once said something along the lines of, "if you have to work more than 8 hours in a day, there's something wrong."
Cignetti's approach seems like a combination of Lombardi and Frederick Taylor, the engineer who studied worker efficiency in early 20th century factories and found that more breaks and shorter work periods produced far better results than long shifts.

I'm surprised no one has come after his staff yet. If I was looking for a HC, his coordinators would definitely be on my list.

Seems like Cignetti’s approach and the massive amount of resources is the complete other side of the coin vs our current program. Can both styles be successful, certainly, but we aren’t in the same ballpark with roster budget.

Cignetti has had 3 seasons at Indiana. He has brought in a new QB every year and hit a HR twice with no injury issues. Will Hoover be a 3rd one?

How does their season go with Mendoza the younger running the show?

It's not just the QB. They're so well-coached on both sides of the ball.

12-0 at Indiana is 12-0 at Indiana. Most coaches aren't doing that, no matter what injury luck they have.
I agree. But SU could have been 11- 1 last year, which is just as much a leap. Much like that same team could have been a 10-11 win team this year.

It just shows injury luck matters but you still need to get past that 1-2 games to make it magical.

And as good as run as it has been Michigan is down, Penn state was way down, OSU was not as dominant. Oregon is good not great and they missed USC/Wash/Mich.

The timing was perfect storm to be pretty good and the league take step backwards

And the same for SU really had we been solid, last year was almost magical.

Shows how quick it can turn as PSU shows how fast it can go south.
