Just watched this highlight of Syracuse vs Vatech. I remember this game vividly. Wilford for Va tech was unstoppable as was David Tyree and Damien Rhodes (Who Ervin Phillips reminds me a lot of). Its amazing how fast we seemed as a team, and how bad nunes was lol. I enjoyed watching this...it certaibly brought me back

I'm kinda surprised Ervin Philips reminds you of Damian Rhodes. If the o-line gave him an opening he had good speed, but I never considered him all that shifty.

It's amazing that R.J. Anderson was even worse that year. The offense had no pulse until Nunes took over. If he played the whole season, they would have at least won the Temple game.

A couple of things stand out. I don't think we currently have a guy capable of having a game like Tyree did. They may be on the roster, but haven't shown that ability yet.

Special teams were the difference in that game ultimately. We missed a FG and an XP. They missed two potential game winning field goals. A few other impact plays. I remember the old V Tech teams on special teams were usually impressive.

In my opinion if you are not good on special teams you just aren't trying hard enough.

It was the best of Nunes (2002 VT), it was the worst of Nunes (2000 VT).
