thats not true.. It all depends on how many attempt to qualifyI believe every car qualifies, the qualifying really is just for determining starting position.
Maybe Fran should start driving it.my cousin who works for a car in NASCAR said and I quote
"that car sucks lol it'll be in the back"
So only way from here is up!
This is a pretty cool idea and thinking out of the box. It would give me a reason to tune in. However, I’m not sure how it raises money. It will probably cost money in the end.
There are two ways to get your name/company/product on a NASCAR team for one race. One is to pay significantly more than their normal sponsor pays per race. ($500,000+ to start, for a good team). The other is to hook up with a poorly funded team that has no full sponsor. In that case, any offer they get is better than sending a car out without sponsorship.
That is the case here, so it’s hard to say how much the sponsorship will cost. But if Syracuse is the main sponsor here, all the other spots on the car for sale probably would not amount to that dollar amount. (If somehow we got the sponsorship for less than $100,000 then you can see a few local car dealers/restarants, etc. coming up with enough to put us in the black). Unfortunately, the car will probably not make the race. I’m not sure if it’s still the case, but road courses used to be the hardest to qualify for because road racing specialists in addition to regular NASCAR drivers try to make this race, and sometimes even drive cars in place of the current NASCAR driver in the race. A driver who is not a road courses specialist in a poorly funded car will struggle to qualify.
This particular racing team is owed by a fairly young New Jersey guy who is perpetually underfunded and does not often make the race. They have had sponsors such as Ollie’s, epoxy depot, and recently Fanatics sports for 2 races. When they cannot get a fully paid sponsor, they put on a HBCU. Seems to be a sports fan in general.
Even if we don’t make a penny, and don’t qualify, we certainly won’t lose much and we get good exposure. Selling diecast of the car long term would probably make it a money maker no matter what.
If they're too poor for a full pit crew, my brother and I will be there ready to rock! I'd make a solid semi-sober jackman!
Semi-Sober? Come on you can do better!!!If they're too poor for a full pit crew, my brother and I will be there ready to rock! I'd make a solid semi-sober jackman!
The way NASCAR works, teams like this (without a full time sponsor) are a on a shoestring budget against teams that have $30 million budgets. Their chances of finishing even in the top 30 are almost zero. It’s not so much that the team sucks, it’s that they have no money. Their crew members are volunteers while the top teams are very well paid, etc. top teams have spare engines in case they blow it up in qualifying, they even have spare cars. If a car like the 44 even has a minor problem, they are done for the race.my cousin who works for a car in NASCAR said and I quote

But you get about $50,000 just for making the race. Add that to some of the sponsorship money and you could make a few dollars just by showing up running a few laps and parking your car.
I miss it so much. Before I moved away, friend and I camped out for about a dozen straight years in some guy named Bob's big ass property like a 15 minute walk from the gates.
Teams used to literally do that. They were called start and parks but thankfully that no longer happens. The way NASCAR works, teams like this (without a full time sponsor) are a on a shoestring budget against teams that have $30 million budgets.
