Cuse vs. Tennessee in Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game - Atlanta 2025

where are you thinking golf-wise? atlanta isn't the best in terms of public golf close to the city
I live in John’s Creek in the Alpharetta area. When it gets closer I am happy to host at my course in Milton for anyone wanting to play. Another option is the Bobby Jones modified nine. But yea you do have to hit courses outside the perimeter but there are some beautiful courses down here.

Over the past 10 years, Tennessee has made exactly one more bowl appearance than us. They should be just as concerned that a loss in the 2025 opener keeps them from bowl eligibility as we should be.

This is like playing an extra game against a poor man’s NC State. It’ll be fine.
Tennessee plays Alabama, Georgia, Florida every single season.
We play Clemson every single season.

Florida State is like playing the other SEC west team Tennessee has to play every year.

The schedules are different plus Tennessee gets top 25 recruiting classes each year.

We are going to be Tennessee’s perceived cupcake that season.

I get it.

It’ll be a fun trip.

Its a cheap flight from NJ to Atlanta, but there is about a 75% chance I'll be living in Phoenix by this time (not as cheap). If I am not, this will DEF be a road trip I make.

Kennesaw Course seems nice, as long as you don’t roll up on any double murders.

This is why I stick to Top Golf off 400 - it, obviously, has nothing to do with me being terrible at golf.

I hit that top golf quite a bit. Tons of fun. And a little more forgiving.

Meh, kinda. To get better talent you really need competitive facilities and dynamic recruiters. I imagine Schiano is recruiting well at Rutgers, and its not like they've been crushing the bowl scene for years. We made 3 bowls in 4 years between 2010-2013, and it's not like Shafer suddenly started reeling in a class full of 4 stars.

Personally, while I think making bowls is important (I mean, it's better to be winning than losing, duh), I also think its a bit overrated. People talk about the benefits of the extra practice time and the bump in recruiting it provides, but I'm not sure that's provable quantitatively.

I could see a scenario where the allure of selling this Tennessee game to potential recruits for the next 4 years is a bigger draw then making some chump bowl against a MAC team on December 27th.
That and NIL possibly upending, changing recruiting as we know it

Huge game that can only help our national presence and hopefully even recruiting. No matter what, it gives our fan base a landmark to look forward to, and a goal/ timeline for the program to aim at to be solidly competitive.

This is awesome and will definitely help recruiting. Flight/hotel/ticket shouldn't cost too much either.
Only helps recruiting if you play well or win. And now pay players or have local businesses pay players.

If only it opened in September, rather than October, I would get you in
No worries, I’ll come in October and we can watch a Cuse game on tv after a few rounds.

thanks!

We'll be undefeated when this game kicks off.

The schools that are going to have fanbases willing to pay 80+ guys on the football team already recruit a lot better than us.

As has been stated this is simply an inseason bowl game. Playing a high profile game in this stadium is still great for recruiting even if its not 10 grand to sign some T shirts.

We are more likely to win 10 games this year than them and they haven't had a season like we did in 2018 since last century.

Having the game on the schedule helped recruiting as soon as it was announced.

It's a big game that you can sell to any recruit in FL, GA, SC, or TN as a homecoming game. For most of our guys, it'll be the best stadium they've ever played in. The national spotlight is on.

That's quite a jump in thought process. But you did make me think of something I hadn't considered - scheduling strategy could open up different NIL opportunities for our players, which could in turn create additional appeal for croots.
;) Yessir, I tend to get a little too far over my skis... sometimes I yard sale, but other times.. profit.

Forgot, the other thing to look forward to is the Tour Championship Labor Day weekend I. Atlanta
