Kevin McNamara writes in this morning's Providence Journal that Boise State holds the key as whether Big East survives as a football conference. Although McNamara isn't particularly clear, he seems to be implying that the basketball schools have told Marinatto that he can't invite anyone else until Boise has been invited and accepts membership in the BE. Maybe I'm reading too much into it? Take a look:

The BB schools still want to be aligned with a BCS conference, but the only BCS worthy team on the table is Boise.

After Boise, there isn't unity between the BB schools who should get invited next. Obviously, if Boise turns down the invite, there's no point in inviting anyone else into what would they fear would be a non-AQ conference.
