Tusculum allowed minus-100 total yards and minus-124 yards rushing to set NCAA single-game records in both categories Thursday night in a 71-0 victory over the College of Faith in Greeneville, Tennessee.

I kind of feel bad for the losing team. Anyone who has played sports growing up has at some point been on the losing side of a game where it was just a complete talent mismatch and you get destroyed.

I don't. First, it's sport, there's always a winner, loser and stats. Second, if you don't want to get beat that badly, then work harder not to do so.

edit: looking at the stats, it should have been apparent to the coaches early on that rushing was not going to be successful. So, hey, why not pass more. They actually had positive passing yardage, but only threw it 12 times. That's a coaching issue.

But if you're from God's country down in Texas, shouldn't you be more sympathetic towards the "College of Faith?"

:)

There's lots of colleges of faith down here. What if they end up playing against each other? :)

A guy I coach youth football with has a son that's a walk-on at Houston Baptist University. They play Incarnate Word in a league game this year...

at least they had 24 yards passing.

we had a game in 2008 with 35 yards passing at rutgers. i have no memory of that game

Tusculum gave up positive passing yards? They must be horrible.

In all fairness. I'm pretty sure that sacks of the quarterback go in the NCAA stat books as rushing attempts with negative rushing yards. So it is possible that even though they were trying to pass the pall, their QB got lit up constantly...

College of Faith immediately received a scheduling call from Rutgirls.

I would imagine the College of Faith's uniforms look terrible.

I was thinking the same, but he only got sacked twice according to the article.

Faith (0-2) ran the ball 36 times, and quarterback Travis Singleton went 7-for-12 for 24 yards and was sacked twice.

Edit: Just watched the video that's with the article and apparently most of the negative yardage came on bad snaps, particularly long-snapping on punts. Kind of puts in perspective why some schools give longsnappers a schollie.
