Dabo firing back at tampering

No this is crap. He wanted to be here when he signed and committed to Syracuse he only didn't want to be here when he was tampered with and got a better offer
Yeah he was tampered with by SC for sure, no idea if scumbag Golding was tampering as well.

As a former car salesman some of these takes are a little funny. Like, nobody cares about their word or a contract anymore. Yet that’s exactly how a lot of people go about buying their cars. Playing one dealer against another, committing to buying a vehicle than calling right before delivery and saying you got a better deal. And on and on and on.

I know it’s different…… because it’s a college player doing it.
No. That's the same as what players do before signing with a school, and they should. This situation is like going to the dealer, signing all the paperwork for the car, taking it home, driving it for a week, and then thinking they can return it because another dealer gave them a better deal.

Think your analogy holds up better for the verbal commit situation rather than once a contract is in place. That’s been unsavory but part of the game. Now we’re into taking players off an active roster and that’s much worse IMO.

Oh, I don’t disagree at all. Thought the parallel was a little funny given this was every day at work for me, for 10 years. And I realize there is a difference.

In the NFL, once a player is under contract with a team, other teams can’t contact that player. It’s considered tampering and the team doing it will suffer penalties.

Additionally, NFL contracts are legally enforceable, and players can’t simply want away from them.

The NCAA is on the clock here - if they want a pro compensation system, which is what they enabled, they better get this crap under control or the whole house of cards will collapse.

Dabo is the reason for the portal going haywire and NIL spiraling out of control leading to ridiculous tampering and back door shady money shenanigans? He was the one guy that hated it…
He wasn't the only one that hated it, but he did resist it the longest. Others adapted as best they could figure out or, if they were old/accomplished enough, got out.

Clemson also considering other options.

From this new article it sounds like Clemson has made a formal complaint to the NCAA. It has been discussed with ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey "has been loped in". The article discusses possible penalties to Ole Miss. We shall see if there's anything left to enforcement of the rules by the NCAA. In addition to any sanctions against Ole Miss, I think the best threat of enforcement is to declare the player ineligible. There might be a question of the manner he received the funds from Ole Miss that would bring that into play.

“Loped”? Direct quote or typo?

Oy! So the attorney representing Mensah in the Duke case (as well as other athletes) and teaches NIL law at the University of Miami law school, doesn't say don't tamper, he says don't leave a paper trail so you get caught.

He went to the Chris Carter school of Law.

This guy Heitner wants to play every side. He's annoying IMO. One of those guys that always wants to sound right.
