Hope he gets on the field at TEYes
I do to - I think he has a NFL future at that position. Needs development but he’s got all the tools.Hope he gets on the field at TE
Dan has probably been playing QB for 10 years. Maybe longer. It is a special position and it is really hard for players playing there to keep it up. Witness our own starting QB.I do to - I think he has a NFL future at that position. Needs development but he’s got all the tools.
I’m looking forward to it because I think he can be a disruptive presence over the middle. His hands are the only question right now and that’s only because he doesn’t have much of a resume catching the ball. Would love to see how he’s progressing in practice at the position.Dan has probably been playing QB for 10 years. Maybe longer. I agree with you. Dan’s fastest path to playing time, and his best chance to be a difference maker in college football, and a possible player in the NFL, is at TE.
Sounds like right now, he is kind of halfway between both positions. It will be interesting to see how this develops. Guessing it wasn’t an accident he had a chance to get a catch against UConn and guessing he is penciled in for a lot of PT against Wagner (at TE/football player).
My personal opinion is that a big reason Purdue was able to shut down our offense in the first half was because their CBs were able to take most of our WRs out of the game with press coverage. Looked to me as though Gadsden, Alford and Jones were the only guys who were tough enough and physical enough to get open. Alford had his second awful drop, struggled blocking and has not done a lot of encourage the coaches to play him more.
Looked like that goon at CB dislocated Jones’ arm, so he is going to be out a while. Thinking the staff might be considering moving Gadsden to outside WR and giving Dan some PT at TE/football player. Might be the best way to ensure Garrett has someone open to throw to.
I don’t thiink UVa is going to play press coverage with their corners, so this might not happen until the NC State game. But Dan might get some PT against the Cavs and Wagner so the staff can see what he can do in game situations. This will be something worth watching for…..
NC State, Clemson, Wake, Pitt, FSU, maybe even BC and ND. You know they are going to try and play 8 in the box and use press coverage to take away our run game.I’m looking forward to it because I think he can be a disruptive presence over the middle. His hands are the only question right now and that’s only because he doesn’t have much of a resume catching the ball. Would love to see how he’s progressing in practice at the position.
He’s basically Shrader as far as athleticism and physicality with the ball in his hands, he’s got the skill set to run over LBers.
But you’re right, in the first half our WR’s were largely invisible. That can’t keep happening. As the schedule gets tougher we can’t have dead halves offensively. So hopefully we’ll see some changes made to address that going forward.
I dont know much about Dans speed or hands but trust me he will not be bullied. The kid is a Clydesdale.Dan has probably been playing QB for 10 years. Maybe longer. It is a special position and it is really hard for players playing there to keep it up. Witness our own starting QB.

Babers said that he will continue to work at QBHope he gets on the field at TE
He also said that they were going to see if they could get him on the field in another position as he was a great athleteBabers said that he will continue to work at QB
^^This^^I’m surprised Dan wasn’t the guy throwing the ball back to Shrader.
Only real way to keep the offense guessing. You bring in a backup/former QB they should have a strong feeling of what’s coming.^^This^^
Just didn’t understand that play. A backup RB throwing the ball?
Yes, they plan to play him at WR, but he will continue to work with the QB roomHe also said that they were going to see if they could get him on the field in another position as he was a great athlete
In fairness, it was completely unexpected.^^This^^

He had one catch for 22 yards against UConn. Has he been on the field since?
He’s only played a few plays all year. Bringing him in and giving him the ball in the backfield isn’t going to fool anyone.I wanna know why he wasn’t the one throwing the ball on that gadget play!!!! Everyone in my section agreed. Brohm doesn’t even know what down it is let alone that theres a former qb in the te position.
I don’t see them moving Gadsden.Dan has probably been playing QB for 10 years. Maybe longer. It is a special position and it is really hard for players playing there to keep it up. Witness our own starting QB.
