It doesn't take a genius to stay in college for $4 million. It was a smart move by Mensah.
But seriously-ish. $4mil.

I'm sorry but for 4 million you damn well better win a National Championship. These guys didn't even make the playoffs. I don't care if the guy is good...that's a bad investment.
Duke has rarely done anything in football.

Since 1962 they have won 6 conference football games 4 times. and it isn't like ACC was ever a good football conference.

I think the Duke supporters are probably quite happy. And $4 million isn't that much as far as sports salaries go these days.

It has been reported that Su is paying Calvin close to that for 2026. Whether true or not I have no idea.

Rumor has it Russell is getting close to that. Is he a bad investment? Should we make the playoffs? Just asking.

Maybe and yes. ( Based on this rumor that I’m just hearing about in this thread.

Sports salaries in college? Are you kidding me?

Need more than one player to win the championship.
True. but there's a reason why the top 11 players in NFL salaries are all QBs. No single player in team sports is more important to success for the team.

If your QB is better than the other team's QB, you have a huge chance of winning.

We had a first hand example this year of how having a bad QB can affect your team.

Sure, that’s been true for a while, but you do need a supporting cast.

What gets lost is that even the bad QBS are also making a ton of money in the NFL quite often. Sure elite makes you better, but above AVG works as well if the team is better.

Name all the QBS in the NFL now that are lifting teams up and saving games for teams.

Mahommes, Allen, Jackson,

Most of the others cost teams as many games with bad play.

What really helps is a cheat code at WR like Stafford or Burrow have.

Would you pay him 4 million if you were in charge of this at…..DUKE?
Do you think Duke is less than Syracuse currently somehow?

You don't seem to have a good handle on Duke as an institution, their resources and commitment to athletics, or Syracuse's own place in the pecking order. Not shocking from a poster that went scorched earth on anyone who was against sacrificing the '25-26 bball season purely out of loyalty. How's that working out?

I would respond except that I haven’t a clue what you’re trying to say. I think it’s an attempt to legitimize Duke as some kind of player in football? Please tell us you don’t believe that.
