Conference realignment where USC and Penn State are in the same league so you can get 1 BILLION dollars per year in TV money? Are you kidding me?

When the commissioners, chancellors, athletic directors and coaches all chased that money, it wasn't enough to tell the kids "hey, you get a scholarship so shut up and play"

I give you credit for admitting that. Maybe the Autry fiasco has given you a dose of humility.

Duke is currently more of a "player" right now in college athletics than Syracuse, including in football. A Syracuse fan, more than anybody at this point, should understand the difference that a single player can make..

Point being Duke is spending 4 mill on one guy, who has one year. We’re also spending 4 mill on one guy. Should we therefore be expected to make the CFP in the next 3 years?

It seems like you’re measuring an “investment” as purely wins/success on the field. Sure, that’s obviously important (winning = $$$), but it’s not the whole puzzle. At the end of the day, it’s all about how many dollars are coming in for the parties of interest to determine if paying Mensah is worth it.

It’s no different now than professional contracts. I read all the time, “nobody is worth $700 million to play baseball”. Well, if Ohtani is helping to generate billions in revenue, then he obviously is worth it regardless of their record on the field.
