I would be surprised if Gill entered the portal.

Have met and tailgated with his Mom. Seems to really like Cuse.

He has threatened the portal before and then ultimately stayed.

If Gill has floated the idea of portaling it would be strictly money based IMO.

I would assume we would take care of him to an extent much like we did with Pena, before Pena sought out more $$$

Wide receivers mean nothing without a functionally competent QB, preferably one and a spare, was no one watching this year. We also need vast improvement on the O-line. I am way less concerned about WR than these positions.

I think Gill would be making a huge mistake if he leaves. He would be the #1 receiver for an Offense that he knows and that has proven to throw for a ton of yards with the right QB. Angeli has already proven himself here and has a connection with him. If he transfers, he could end up making a much bigger mistake than Pena, who didn't have a proven QB returning like Angeli and got lost in the shuffle in his new place.

Well we all agree with that. That doesn’t mean we ignore WR and don’t have thoughts on who would be best to retain.

I agree — I don’t expect Russell to come in and dominate right away, but I do expect him to give solid production, and I think he will. Boobie Johnson, Tyshawn Russell, and Darien have all shown flashes, and with a second year in the system, I believe one of those three will break out. In my opinion, that guy will be Boobie Johnson. And let’s not forget the speedster Amare Gough, who can take the top off a defense as well.

I love the freshman WR’s. But you can’t count on freshman to play large roles no matter how talented they appear to be. Tremble looked
Like a pretty awesome get coming in as a high profile, larger WR or a pass catching WR/TE hybrid. And he has t done much at all yet on offense in 2 years. Even Gadsden barely made a dent as a freshman.

We need to retain some proven WR production.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he returned yet and wouldn’t be surprised if money is part of this. Hope it gets sorted out and we see him in Orange in 2026.

But I wouldn’t say he has had quite the same amount of proven production that Peña had.
He hasn’t had a season of 84 receptions for 941 yds and 9 TD’s. Not saying he can’t have a season like that, but he hasn’t proven he can do that yet.

I think that’s in part because of me.

I mentioned how we took care of Pena $$$ wise.

I am confident that if someone was offering Gill more $$$, Fran and team would step up and get Gill more $$$ to keep him there, like he did with Pena originally.

With that being said I am pretty confident that Gill will be staying and this is a bunch of bologna
