9:20 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Practice #4 (closed)

No Media.

no access stuff stinks , all the secrets and hush hush is all BS and paranoia. Games come down to blocking and tackling either you do or you dont. Have a Friday night practice open it up to fans kinda like the spring game without the game , that's how you build your fan base !

Most of the teams have very limited access to camps. Most just have that one opportunity to view the team pre-season. The staff decided to eliminate that opportunity this year.

That's how you build your fan base !
Since your son entered kindergarten, Syracuse has had exactly 4 winning seasons - 04, 10, 12, 13. And aside from an incredibly fun closing stretch by the 2012 team, none of those team were particularly good. The last great Syracuse team was 2001, which featured Dwight Freeney.

Syracuse football to the casual fan is same old, same old. Winning a few games, pulling off an upset or three, and making a bowl is what is going to build the fan base, not opportunities to see a scrimmage.

Boooooooooooooooo

Maybe if you attend Fanfest you might get to be a lucky fan. ;)

Second-year head coach
Dino Babers and the 2017 Orange football team take the field at the SU Soccer Stadium at 4 p.m. After the coaches put the student-athletes through a series of drills, some lucky fans in attendance will be selected to take part in a "Fans vs. Football" skills challenge. Fans will go head-to-head against SU players in an extra-point/field-goal kicking contest, a passing accuracy challenge, a punt-catching competition and the 40-yard dash. Unique rules and and modifications will be made to even the playing field.

Boooooooooooooooo
I would guess if you go up for the weekend they will let you watch. I am missing fan fest this year unfortunately took the wrong week end off before they announced date and some one else took the fan fest weekend. But I do agree getting the fan base excited during the off season is needed to get more butts in the seats during the season. Letting them connect with players and becoming invested in them before the season starts. More interviews more pics and videos and at least a couple open practices

I was going up this weekend but my son said no , not a sole is at practice and he doesn't want to be the only player with a parent there which I understand, im a schockef nobody goes to see there kid practice

Most of us live to far away to make it up for the limited time we get to see the kids. Driving 6 hours to see himfor 2 hrs and drive back 6 is A bit much and I live closer than most

If parents are allowed in practice, some random walk on may suddenly have a slew of parental figures in his life, all suspiciously members of this board...

Moe Neal's dad goes to a lot of practices. So I do know sometimes parents are let in lol. I've heard of a few other parents going once and a while but not much. I would love to go but again it's a hell of a drive for the couple hours I'd get

Ed O closed LSU's practices to the media. First time in forever. I imagine that is driving LSU fans bat crazy.

I have a lot of those type stories lol. Shy had a knee injury sophomore year that we thought might put him out. On Wednesday after the injury he decided he could play if he had a brace. I took 2 days off from work to drive around buying braces to get them approved by the team trainer for him to play Friday. The following week they got him a custom made one by didn't have enough time to get it made for Friday. I spent 2 days and A few hundred dollars for him to play 1 game

Seriously? What utter horse...

its the same as many HS.. some let you watch, many dont.. I know when i coached i really didnt want parents hanging around. Much easier to coach Basketball where you shut the doors than the outdoor stuff like fball/soccer/baseball.. Most coaches dont want the distraction and I am sure it would be worse at a college where some stuff really should not be out in the public before it needs to be.
