I thought practices were going to be open?

No. Only the first ten minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays to the media.

Several weeks back there was talk in a thread of them being open. I thought they meant open like they used to be where we could go up to Manley and watch on certain days

That was my take away as well. I guess some is better then none, but imo these Spring practices should be more open to the fans. For the amount of coverage, and time spent following the team, we only get to see 12 guaranteed game a year. That's certainly not a lot for what is put in. Especially for a program like Syracuse who is trying to reconnect with the community I would think you would want to give fans a reason to be interested in what's going on up there. Otherwise it just seems like they are easy to forgot about for the non diehard fans out there.

a couple of issues. first most of these practices are 7:30 where do people expect to be parking on a college campus to watch these things on a daily basis? secondly they are practicing in the IPF. its not like you can get free reign to walk inside many of these buildings, if they were outside after normal working hours it may be much easier to allow people to watch.

Most non-die hard fans from this community are not going to go to practices. Heck, for the most part, the die-hards and their families that are dragged to them are the only ones at Fanfest and the Spring Game.

Unless you are trying to re-connect to the 4 non-die hard fans that just might show up to practice, in that case I would agree with you.

if it were a case of having video out there for all to see, then I would close practices too if I were the coach.
