Dayton vs. Syracuse- Player statistics

None of those guys have made over 45 on the season. They don't shoot a high volume.

It doesn't matter really with this team. We have lost more than a few games where teams stunk it up from 3 but ate us up inside. The upside is that Boeheim, Coon Dog, etc. have seen their defense before. We were so dreadful from 3 last time but were in it to the wire.

Commentators saying they are a poor perimeter shooting team. So was UNC, but went off in the 1st half against us...

This one is on Roberson . He should have 20+ rebounds and 15 points on put backs , if he comes to play.

We have to hope Pollard is still limited, as he's a solid player for them. They have a 6'11" freshman that I'm sure will be the guy that kills us inside.

I don't think they're that great defensively, at least lately. They've allowed 74+ in 6 of their last 10. Kenpom likes them, but they've played some offensive dogs this year. They are good on D, and we all know how much we struggle offensively, so it will be a slog, probably in the 50's.

WE'RE THE BETTER FREE THROW SHOOTING TEAM!!!! Foul anybody outside of Pierre and they're bound to miss at least one.
The 6'11" Freshman is Steve McElvene, 268 pounds. Probably not a gifted athlete but that size is imposing. Coleman must stay out of foul trouble because Lydon v. McElvene is not a good match-up for SU. The guy who looks like trouble to me is Dyshawn Pierre. So much depends on the Dayton interior passing and rebounding on both ends of the court. This game shapes up early as a defensive dog-fight.

Friend of mine is an alum and resides in Dayton. Says part of their slide may be attributed due to some team dissension similar to that which derailed our season quite a few years ago now.

I'm fairly confident we will make more than one shot outside of the paint, too.

Call me crazy, but I think this is a game Coleman should get a lot of run (if he can).
They only have one center and he plays 18 minutes per game. One of their rotation players (they have 8) left their last game with a bum ankle.

This is going to be a close painful game to watch. I like our chances though. They have 3 people shooting over 35% from 3 but none of them are shooting a lot of 3's. I think the fact they are not big and don't rebound well is a huge advantage. We are much better equipped to play a team like this in 2016 than we were last time we saw Dayton.

Do we have an idea how effective Pollard can be? I haven't seen Dayton play this year hardly at all. Maybe watched 5 minutes of one game.
