Another kid I am familiar with. His dad and I were on the board of the youth football organization together. However, he moved a couple years ago to his current school so haven't seen him play. Dad had him and his brother in track, football and basketball since they were tots. Yes, Texas even has track for kids.

When my oldest was in Jr Olympic nationals few years back there was a track team from Houston that probably had as many athletes there as the entire Northeast Region combined. Texas and South Florida kids were utterly dominant to the point you could pick most heat winners based on region numbers without knowing a thing about the kids competing
