Interestingly enough I don't think I was still under the official BYU Honor Code while I was a missionary in Argentina. Granted, I was under missionary conduct guidelines, which were even more strict. But I think if there are deferrals or enrollment gaps it's not assumed that the Honor Code still applies if the individual isn't considered a student.
