While you aren’t wrong, there is a reason former first round picks who don’t live up to the hype get second and third chances while 6th round picks don’t. That pedigree means something, and it usually is that you are a very good (bordering on freak level) athlete, and if you ever figure out how to play the game, you have a chance to be very, very good.

Again, very few true freshmen play at UGA and a redshirt freshman playing ST only on a team that won 10 games isn’t exactly an indictment of his potential.

You’re misinformed he was on special teams at Louisville not Georgia. This isn’t exactly screaming 4 star prospect. He is clearly not as good as he was rated in high school.

While you aren’t wrong, there is a reason former first round picks who don’t live up to the hype get second and third chances while 6th round picks don’t. That pedigree means something, and it usually is that you are a very good (bordering on freak level) athlete, and if you ever figure out how to play the game, you have a chance to be very, very good.

We absolutely do not know that "clearly". Lville had a good secondary that started all upperclassmen. A redshirt freshman wasn't likely to crack that group either. His athleticism is still there. And more importantly, the DB coach that saw his practice habits as a Georgia Freshman every day still thinks he can be a help.

How am I misinformed?? I said he didn’t play at UGA and he played special teams only on a 10 win team as a redshirt freshman. That 10 win team was Louisville

Just because he hasn't played at DB yet in college doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't be a fine pick up. As stated it would be a very special player to play snaps on O or D at UGA in their true freshman season. For example Yazeed didn't either and we know what everyone here thinks of him. He moved on to Louisville last year who brought in 25 transfers in that class including 5 other DB's from PSU, UVA, U of Miami, Texas A&M and Baylor. And he played pretty much only on specials all year as a redshirt frosh. And in this 2024 class Louisville brought in 30 more transfers including 7 DB's. I just looked up their projected depth chart for 2024 and i see 4 seniors as the starting DB's. The likelihood of him being a star probably is a bit less now but just because he wasn't playing much in his freshman and redshirt freshman seasons on good teams doesn't mean he doesn't have good football ahead of him.

did this kid take your lunch money or something? It’s 2024, if you eliminate every kid going on his 3rd school in 3 years, you will ignore a lot of talented kids. Big deal. He left UGA, like many UGA players, to play more. Maybe he left Louisville because Brohm is a dick, he has 3 years left which is a ton in terms of potential development. Fran recruited him and he knows talent so if he comes here, great, hopefully he will be a good player for us.

Fran Brown recruited the kid to Georgia, pretty sure he has an idea of what he’d bring to the table. He didn’t play as a freshman at the best football program in the country right now, then only played on special teams on a 10 win Lville squad with a secondary littered with upperclassmen.. Fran is the reigning defensive back coach of the year NATIONALLY. As well as the best recruiter in the country, two years running. He recruited this kid to UGA and has an outstanding relationship with him and his mother. With 3 years of eligibility it would be a huge pickup.

I don’t really see why it has to be one or the other. We can be excited that Fran is bringing a former top 150 recruit that he personally recruited to UGA while also being conscious of the fact that he couldn’t crack the 2 deep at Louisville. Even heading into this Spring. Which is a red flag.

So maybe temper expectations on one side while not being so negative on the other.
