which past SU player?

I am sure this has been done before but I forget what people were saying. I have not seen many of the clips. Is he a back to the basket 5 (Otis Hill, AO), back to the basket 4 (RJ), athletic 4 (Hak), face the basket 4 (Carmelo), etc.

Some seem to think he is a solid 5 but the stories are that he can and does play facing the basket. Not a classic 5 in that case. As a 4/5 though, how far from the basket do you see him dribbling? JW style or someone else?

Again, sorry as this is probably a repeat.

Otis Hill -style 5, with good passing skills and ability to play 15 feet from the hoop, but much more physically imposing and more effective in terms of rebounding.

My hope is that he rounds into a center who combines Hill's offense with Rick Jackson's rebounding. That, of course, would probably be an All-America -caliber center.

How does he compare to Sullinger from Ohio State? I haven't really seen him play either...

Similar games, although Sullinger's footwork is outstanding. That's what sets him apart at the college level. He makes great moves, so that he's as effective as somebody like Blake Griffin around the hoop, but without the explosiveness.

I agree that a bigger version of Otis Hill is about what I'm expecting.

AO. Hopefully with a better % at the charity stripe.

AO with a better hair line.

Melvin Tuten.

He's about the same size as AO and is supposed to have a strong back to the basket game. AO as a senior had about the best back to the basket game we've ever had. He'd also learned how to pass out of double teams and was good rebounder and a postional defender, although not a shot blocker. If DC2 is like AO but also has a medium ranger jumper and can drive to the basket, he'll be a heck of a player.

Not an SU guy..but Glen 'Big Baby" Davis?

That is funny. I totally agree and Davis is the right comparison in my mind. If he develops into that type of player, everybody here will be pretty darn pleased.

According to this bio from LSU, Big Baby also played tailback in high school. That would be something to see.

Crazy...one of my roommates and fraternity brothers at SU went to high school in Beaumont, TX. Jerry Ball played RB for their high school team. For those that remember Ball, he had a lengthy NFL career as a fire hydrant Nose/D Tackle. Unreal.

Then again, I saw that high school yearbook. They had a weight lifting team. My high school did not...We did have Sam Perkins though.
