DE Chris Slayton - What Do You Think?

Gotta love the fact we beat out those three squads for Slaytons services, this squad of recruiters has shown they are about family, and parents are happy and excited to send their kids to come play here.

Very similar sentiments as what was mentioned about Thomas earlier today. Very good to hear, even if we aren't winning tons of battles just yet

Great offer list.

More than makes up for Sykes, IMO. Love the height. Once this kid gets a year of two in a collegiate S&C program, he has the frame to easily carry 30+ more pounds without losing speed / athleticism.

throw Wisconsin, Miami and Missouri into the mix to among others. Slayton is a high major pick up. Great get.

But what about the 300 mile radius..? Don't these guys know that they need northeast contacts? Don't they know that they have to have NYC contacts? Doesn't Shafer know he needs to follow the same plan that Mac and P did ? Clearly he's lost it

Our D line has been so solid for a few years now, great to see Slayton will be a part of that. Get ready to help us kick it up a notch, dude!

Imagine this kid...after S&C

6'5 probably 255 - 265 lbs of straight muscle

Merry Christmas to us! And to Chris. Welcome to the Orange family!

Imagine in 2 years, Slayton, Thompson, Johnson, Rodney, Raymon, Williams eating ACC QB's, and RB's alive.

I hear you...but I still think we need to own NYC/LI and be a decent factor in NNJ and Eastern PA.

It's never been 100%. Whoever said that? Oh yea, nobody. But every coach at SU has always said your core recruiting area is a 6 hour radius. But what the hell do they know.

Florida!!!

Yeah, whatever it's not 1989 anymore either and the NYC thing was noble but at the end of the day there isn't that much talent in NYC. we also weren't in the ACC twenty years ago, we also didn't have a staff with serious Midwest connections and a guy like GMC, but why trust the best recruiting staff we have had in years. Let's continue to live in the past and rehash the rehashing of the glory years.

Like I said, once we started in the ACC Everything changed, recruit the south and wherever the staff has relationships, everything else is irrelevant regardless of what blue hairs think is best. Who cares where the talent comes from, just get it
