Decision to Press

Clearly Boeheim's decision to press at the end was masterful - Mark Few and his team were not prepared for that.

It was a true coaching moment.

It reminded me of JB's decision to slap a half court press just before halftime during the 1996 Semi Final Vour Game against Miss State.

i wonder if next year with a real shot blocker and hopefully a but more depth if we dont use it a bit more too.

In the end, Gonzaga was a very Euro-style team. Well-coached, good shooters, but not quick, not good ballhandlers, not particularly creative. We won the game by pressing them on defense, and creating off the dribble on offense.

Their guards were not at the same level as SU's. Our perimeter out-played theirs most of the way.

Our press came up HUGE! It was simply masterful. I have never seen us get a 10 sec call in 40 years of watching our boys play.
