Wow what a game by the entire defense. We played really tough out there today. Very excited for Sr who played lights out. I even thought whit played very well. Tight on coverage and made some nice tackles. Guthrie and shy were awesome. Wow what a secondary even with some guys hurt. Seemed like we played more man last night which is nice we are turning the perverbial corner. Great game boys. Very proud.

So excited for next year's D. Backfield will be lockdown. Linebackers will still be a question mark, but I know we can count on Armstrong. And we have 2 of the best DE's in the ACC back. The D may have to carry us a couple games while our newly revamped Oline jells.

This coaching staff did the right thing ripping the band aid off three seasons ago to get the new systems implemented. It made for a rough 2016, and plenty of growing pains along the way, but we're starting to see the benefits now that the personnel have improved.

Improved depth, better athletes, etc. which we're seeing transform before our very eyes, and this defense will be formidable. Hell, they've already improved a ton from the beginning of the year. Remember when we couldn't stop the run at all? That was the juncture where Shy / Richards started getting more run, and it paid off. Kudos to Babers, Ward, and all the defensive coaches / players.

but i thought it was not possible to play good D if you use the Tampa 2 as your base? that was a solid effort all day.. stop the run, play good coverage, make tackles in space..

if the rotation in the zone gets a bit better you have a chance to really solid.

other than a couple blown coverages about as good as you can get.

Like Bam had said 4 games ago or so, we were training backers for pass first and then switched to run first then pass and it made a huge difference. Can’t understate how big it really was. I think we play four kids next year with shy Richards Armstrong and Wallace to give starters a break.
