Outside of Clemson, who in the ACC could beat any of their top six teams? Maybe Miami? The PAC12 says hi.

Shafer didn't lose any qb's when he was the defensive coordinator. Why is it so hard for people to separate the years he spent at DC and the years he spent at HC?My point there was that in college football, teams usually play much better when they have an experienced senior QB who can run the offense and has started and played against great teams at home and on the road. The other players on the team can see that and it bolsters them. And as far as Shafer goes I would defend him and any other coach who lost all their QB's and are down to walkon's 2 years in a row.
Clemson is kind of a big deal to throw "outside."Outside of Clemson, who in the ACC could beat any of their top six teams? Maybe Miami?
He was not the DC then, Chuck Bullough was.Shafers defenses were so great that his best team gave up 48 to a 5-7 Northwestern team and 56 to Georgia Tech because he had zero idea how to stop the option. Then his last year here we were absolutely shredded every game.

We could. NC State could. Yeah, Miami.

This defense is lucky they won't face GTech this year or they might give up 1000 yards rushing.
